Calendar event is showing wrong time.

I have a calendar event that is showing the wrong time in SlideScreen and on the event detail view from SlideScreen, but appears fine in Google Calendar on my PC and through the Google Calendar app on the phone when run through the launcher.

The event times are ahead by five hours (11 PM to 2 AM instead of the expected 6 PM to 9 PM). I'm in the Eastern Time Zone (GMT -5). The wrong time shows both in SlideScreen, regular and filter view, and on the event detail when access through SlideScreen.

Another event on the same day shows correctly in all places (10 AM to Noon). SlideScreen, Calendar app, and online Calendar all show the same times.

The only thing that I can figure is different about the event is that the event showing the wrong times was part of a weekly series that I moved to a different day for that week only.

Let me know what other information I can provide. I can also share the calendar event if necessary.

I'm running CyanogenMod 4.2.13 on a T-Mobile G1.

this might be the same problem: i had an event in the calendar, it showed up right in slidescreen, but then via a browser, i dragged the event an hour before. after that, i had two events, one at 6PM and one at 7PM. probably to do with the cache? even updating new events or whatever didn't fix it.

another issue: i have imported a calendar from a public location, and on that location the time is set to GMT. it shows correctly in my browser, EST, it shows correctly in my actual calendar app, EST, but it shows up 5 hours late in slidescreen. strangely, selecting this event brings up the normal calendar "view event" screen but with the 5 hour late time and it'd even say "Local time zone Eastern Standard Time" (when if i'd select it from the calendar app, it'd show the same view event screen, but the correct time)

using a nexus one.

My solution of "fixing" the target calendar's time zone isn't going to work for a public calendar. So there's still a bug to be fixed, since the SlideScreen behavior doesn't match Google Calendar's behavior (on the web or in the native Android app).

Your replay made me think to check my Google calendar, which showed me the public calendar I was subscribed to was set to the wrong timezone. I'm EST, the calendar is set to use PST. I see what you see, looks fine in the calendar app, looks fine in the browser, but is off in SlideScreen. Looks like SlideScreen reads the timezone the calendar is set to and not what time zone we're in.

Aha! I checked the calendar settings and the calendar I'm using was set to GMT. I changed it to be EST, and now the events appear correctly everywhere!

Had a similar problem. My event was an all-day event recurring yearly. The all day event shows up for Jan 20 on slidescreen even though on google calendars they show up on Jan 21. Weird. Tried remaking the appt, but it still shows up on Jan 20. But the weirdest thing is that the current date is showing as Jan 21, but the appt still shows up with a Jan 20 date.

I have the same problem here. I mainly use two calendars, one Google Calendar that is configured by default by the phone, and one shared google calendar i added through the web interface. The shared one doesn't calculate the time zones correctly, everything is off by one hour.

Thanks to Mat, I thought to check the time zone settings on the calendar itself. The calendar's time zone was set to GMT (accounting for the five hour time difference). Changing the time zone to EST made the events appear correctly everywhere.

My time zones are set correctly and I still have this issue. Also "all day" events are off by 1 day.

It says my friend's birthday is today (22nd) when it is actually tomorrow (23) and it is correctly in my calendar and displays correctly everywhere else.

Keith, I noticed it with only recurring all day events. Can you test that? I also have a droid.

I created the event in Google Calendar to be recurring every month.

@mikooster - Just verified that a recurring all-day event does show a day early but a non recurring all day event is correct. Good find!

Just a note to say that we're monitoring this thread since we've had a few other reports of calendar issues. The info here has been super helpful so far, thanks and let us know if the solutions above are fixing everyone's issues, thanks.

i'm having the same issue where all day events are showing up a day early. all my calendars and device (G1) are set to the correct time zone (AZ, MST -7:00, we do not observe DST). i had this same issue with another app (pure calendar widget) and the developer fixed it, not sure how though. the weird thing is if i add an all day event using my G1, initially it shows correctly in slidescreen, but on the next refresh it moves it up a day early.

I had the same problem when I tried to include an event from a google calendar (not public) which I had imported from an iCal file. I don't know what the time zone setting of the .ics was, but the event created appears at the right time in Google Calendar and in the calendar on the phone, but the Slidescreen preview and event detail are showing it 8 hours late (GMT).

My issue is that it is showing either all-day events or recurring events (haven't tested it enough to tell) as being the day before they actually occur. Using a stock Nexus One.

Well 1 year later, I have just discovered the same problem. Obviously it didn't get fixed permanently. My Nexus one edit calendar shows the time at 5:00 pm but the google calendar shows it an hour later. Entering it on my laptop does show the correct time.

My yearly recurring events are also showing up a day early, but I have a weird problem with non recurring events: Slidescreen is reporting that they end half an hour earlier than scheduled. Seems to be universal for any event I set up (using the Android Calendar app). My timezone is set correctly. They show the correct end time in the Calendar app, but if I tap on one from Slidescreen, the event info shows the wrong end time.

Time zone is still padded to my calendar events start time (e.g. Time zone +6, 2pm event becomes 8pm). I'm almost ready to put the money down, is the mentioned release coming yet?

on t-mobile N1.

Edit: Now it seems to be working properly after FC!

I have checked the time zone on all of my calendars individually, my computer, the main calendar settings and the events are ALL behind 5 hours. Mac shows correct time, the google calendar World clock shows the right time, but all events on all calendars are wrong

Soooo... I've noticed 2 things here.

First of all, all the calendar issues you guys have been having I too have been experiencing. All day events are now two days because it pushes the 12am start time back to 11am on my phone thus 2 days.

And any event set for say noon, was set to 11am.

So I went into the calendar app on my phone and the weirdest thing was there:

I saw a GMT -5:00 Easter Standard Time which is what it's SUPPOSED to be. But then I scrolled down and there were a few other locations that used the Eastern GMT -5:00 but then I noticed there was ANOTHER Eastern Time but this one was set for -4:00.

I switched it to that, and now they match up.

I'm using a Galaxy S II LTE from Rogers in Canada.

But I also noticed that when I was chatting on Google Talk on my phone, my time stamps were also off by one hour. This change corrected that.

I really hope this is fixed. It almost made me miss my EXTREMELY important Surgery Follow up Appointment.

Cheers

I'm not sure if this has been sorted yet, but I was having this problem. All my facebook, google, cell phone and computer were in the right time zones, but my facebook events were on the wrong time. It was wrong on my android phone.

First I unsynced facebook events on my cell phone calender.

Then I followed the steps to export "upcoming events" from facebook on my computer. I then chose the "microsoft office Outlook link" which when that loaded up I stole the URL link and closed Outlook. I then went into my google calendar on my computer and under "other calendars" chose "Add by URL". When all the events went into google calendar doing it this way all my cell phone facebook events were now at the right time. Win! I also did this with birthdays (I'm no longer a day late).

I hope this helps.

I just had a calendar reminder come up in Gmail (Mac) which was 3 days and half an hour late. Time zones and time and dates are both correct in Chrome and on iPhone Calendar.

I recently started having this problem intermittently on my Android phone, since the latest system update. Only certain appointments display a different time in preview from the time the appointment is actually saved for. This has caused me to double-book appointments, and clients are increasingly showing up for appointments at the "wrong time."
