I have this album called No Life For Me by two bands, Wavves and Cloud Nothings. Originally, I scrobbled the tracks under the artist name "Wavves X Cloud Nothings" and at one point as "Wavves; Cloud Nothings". I've renamed the artist name on my phone to the right name "Wavves & Cloud Nothings". However, the scrobbles are still saved under the two previous names, can you please fix this and put them under the right name

Hi brolindres,

Last.fm will never change the data submitted by users.

However once the 'correction' feature is back on-line, you will be able to suggest a correction from the incorrect spelling to the correct one, thus displaying in your library as single item.

I suggest you guys at least let the users change the scrobble data for themselves. I had to delete so many scrobbles because of this.

I don't see any sense on that, I am afraid.

Hi Pellitero,

I'll be pretty consistent with this :) Why it does not make any sense?
There are so many different sources with so many mistakes in artists/albums/tracks names that it is sometimes very hard to have conistent scrobbiling data.

You mention that we will be able to submit request for correction but I do not see any information if this will work also backwards, meaning that it will allow me to automatically merge tracks from the past 10 years which had wrong namig due to wrong tags in WINAMP/AIMP/YOUTUBE/SPOTIFY/ETC.

From my point of view I'd abso0lutely love the idea of change scrobbling data I accumulated over the past years and have a clear and correct stats or at least have an option to request such "cleaning" and ensuring it won't create even more mess.

For now as K Midnitee pointed out, I need to delete several thousand tracks which had wrong naming because Spotify had wrong title/album naming from the one I was using for years.

Hi Shamharoth,

Allowing users which submitted the "wrong" data to correct the data, doesn't inspire much confidence, does it? ;)

We are focusing on having a single spelling for track titles, so all data regarding that title is found in a single item, regardless on what an individual considers as correct which most probably will differ from what other individual considers correct.

Isn't this what we all want?

When will the correction feature be back online?

We are currently doing an internal testing, which will then go to beta and finally deployed to the live site. I am afraid there is no estimated date at the moment.

I am inclined to agree - superficially. However, which spelling will take presedence? Discogs is often heralded as the most respectable, with MusicBrainz not far behind, although I submit lots of info to MB and see mistakes on there.

Furthermore, with respect to MB, they have a naming system that I would think incompatible with Last FM - their house style is to sub-tag albums with disambiguations such as "deluxe edition" rather than include it in the album name. This has meant that info from there has frequently been imported to here with the standard edition name but with a deluxe tracklisting. This may not seem like too much of a problem, but this can often lead to vote-fights over the artwork, as different iterations often have different artwork.

On a similar note, with relation to MB, they list tracks in the format of <artist name> feat. <featuring artist> - <track name>, whereas Spotify is generally <artist name> - <track name>, leaving out the featured artist's information. This means potentially our scrobbled info may not align with the associated Spotify tracks.

Do you know if these issues are being taken into account, Pellitero?

Is this new catalogue correcting feature only regarding track titles?  In my case I have about 800 scrobbles from Les Discrets album correctly scrobbled under the album name Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensées, but I also have about 500 scrobbled incorrectly without the accent marks.  Will the new system in development "merge" the two and display the combined amount under the correct album title with the accents?  I have a number of albums that are split due to incorrect album tags from over the years causing my overall album charts to be misleading and inaccurate.

I also have another artist who I have incorrectly scrobbled his artist name and album incorrectly in several ways that I'd like to be "merged" and properly shown in my last.fm library.  Hopefully, whenever this new correction system is up and running it can enable us to correct such mistakes.

It should also merge album releases data on the same item. There is discussion about it here .

How about artists merging e.g. Igor Stravinsky vs. Igor Fyodorovitch Stravinsky? Those should be merged.
