does anybody know how to add a track to an album? I have seen many songs where last.fm has absolutely no album information and thus the cover art is now shown in my library. Is there a possibility to add the album info manually?

Examples: [here] or  [here]

The best thing to do is add them on MusicBrainz.org - create a free account if you haven't got one. It's pretty straightforward but you will need to follow their style guide.

Last FM uses MusicBrainz to import album info and will be using it (plus others) for the updated database. You won't see it appear until after the updated database has been applied for the whole site - it's currently in beta (lol) with just registered users and Last FM haven't stated when it'll become available to all.

Hi Lennie,

Both examples you posted above are not album/release pages where you will find the tracklisting.

The url address for an album reads http://last.fm/artistname/releasename. On the album/release page, you will be able to upload the artwork.

There is more information about editing the catalogue pages at https://getsatisfaction.com/lastfm/topics/last-fm-artist-and-label

@Pellitero: Thanks for your response, but interestingly I can reach those pages from my library. When I click on the "albums" tab, I have assumed that I should see all albums containing this song there.

I have noticed that both releases were not listed on musicbrainz. I have added them now there. How often do you sync with the MusicBrainz DB? I am using the beta catalogue, thus I'm not sure if this is currently a manual process or already done automatically.

You are absolutely correct, Lennie. It should display all albums on the catalogue that contain the track. However, due to the works being carried out at the moment by the data team, some releases are not being displayed.

There isn't a fixed schedule for MusicBrainz data matching at present, I am afraid, but yes, the release information should be matched automatically by last.fm.
