Android app scrobbling patchy last 2 days

I scrobble very successfully from Google Play Music via the official Last.fm Android app. It seems very patchy the last 2 days - showing scrobbles correctly when playing, but then not successfully submitting them (they do not appear on my profile). Other times, song show on my profile but are then missing when I check back a little while later. For example - GPM shows I've played 9 songs in the past hour, but the Last.fm site shows only 4. It did show 6, but 2 have gone missing.

I have deleted and re-downloaded the app, and re-authorised it.

With regards to the official android app and GPM, I've been trying to narrow down an issue with scrobbling for months, and so far I'm the only person in the office that has encountered this which makes it hard to narrow down the root cause.  For me what usually happens is I'll scrobble an entire album, and notice on my profile later that 2-4 songs haven't scrobbled.  Quite frankly we're not sure if it's an issue with the app, an issue with the API (my initial guess), an issue with the device, an issue with GPM, or an issue with the network I'm using.

We have an internal build of the android app which includes logging (and therefore requires additional permissions) -- if you'd like to help, I'm going to try and make that available.

For now, what would help is:

- Device model
- Android version
- Your Last.fm app settings

e.g.

- Samsung Galaxy S6
- Android 6.0.1
- Spotify and Rdio off, other music apps on
- 'Wi-Fi Scrobble only' is on.
- Scrobble point is 50%

Also, if you can tell us the music you scrobbled, the tracks missing, and when this happened that would help too.

e.g. if you listened to an album, you can link to the exact point in your library where it happened:
http://www.last.fm/user/Maddieman/library/music/Bob+Dylan/Nashville+Skyline?from=2015-11-27&rang...

If you're encountering issues scrobbling consistently with the official Last.fm android app (version 2.+) and would like to help us troubleshoot the issue, we have a test build you can install which creates a debug log file.

Here's the download link.  It's the same as the regular app, but requires an additional permission to write a log file to your phone.  That being said, as this is an unofficial release, you agree to install at your own risk.

Steps to use it:
  1. You need to uninstall the previous version of your last.fm app;
  2. Install the linked app and authenticate with your Last.fm account.
  3. After installation on your SD card "lastfmLog.txt" file will be created (e.g. My Files -> Device Storage -> lastfmLog.txt)
  4. As soon as you'll notice that a track was not scrobbled, please copy the log file and send to us or paste it here.
  5.  Please also include your device model, android version, and app settings (see my previous post above)
Note: info in the log file is written for one day, on a new day the log starts from scratch. 

In most cases we don't need the entire file, just the entries related to the missing scrobbles.
