I am using huawei honor 6 and i have tried multiple different players and scrobblers but still does not scrobble. It has scrobbled like one song but after that it does not scrobble anymore. I thought at first that last.fm scrobbler should be running when i listen music but it does not work still. Only scrobbles 0-1 songs and then nothing. Very irritating. With samsung galaxy s3 it did work perfectly.

Help? Solutions? It seems that i am not only one with this problem.

Please fix it last.fm!

Just a thought, could your mobiles battery saver be closing down the app? With battery hungry mobiles apps that sat in the background are now being closed.

Oh my god, that is it! I never would have thought of that. Now it works like a dream! Now i understand why it did scrobble sometimes 1 song - that was because when i opened scrobbler, i used my phone for a bit moment before i turned off the screen, and that is when it shut down the scrobbler. Thank you and i wish you the most wonderful day! Thank you! :)

We've also seen this on Samsung Galaxy phones, where app optimisation prevents the Last.fm app from launching in the background.  Unfortunately there's not much we can do about this except advise people to check their battery settings and disable app optimisation for Last.fm.

This is happening on my Moto X Pure with no battery optimization apps. It's like it picks and chooses what to scrobble.

Have the developers been in contact with Google Developer Relations about this?

I know from other apps developers had this same challenge but managed to get it to work with their app.
One solution would be to cache all the tracks, send a priority message to the device/Google servers to activate the device and have it send all the cached tracks to Last.fm.
