Can these ads be reverted to the previous, less intrusive design? I don't see why any effort is going into constantly re-designing these:

And:

I get that you want people to subscribe, but I'm not sure a loud invasive anti-adblock ad will sway people.

You don't see why effort are going into these? Do you know how the free internet works? This is what makes them money. It makes perfect sense for effort to go into that from a company's perspective. You don't like the ads? Subscribe then.

I found the ads also "loud" at begin (iirc the first 2-3 days)
later my eyes just seem to ignore them (even though their color is distinct to the normal colors on the site.)

but I am an old-time user, so can't speak for 1st-time users

No Nrg you complained, I gave you a solution. You don't like it? That's your problem. I don't mind the ads, people who do shouldn't come here complaining about them when an option has been provided to get rid of them. Your last sentence? I'm sure big loud ads do sway some people. If you think the ads are too bad for you to use the service then don't use the service. But you're still using it so I guess it's not really that bad then.

Subscribe? And what I'll get if I subscribe? Alphabetical order for library items? Autocomplete for tags? (Oh boy, I do love tags like "unstrumental" or "ethic jazz" in my library.) "About me" longer than 200 symbols? Maybe some other useful functions from old site that still aren't back, after all these years? Oh, none of these - just some useless stats, merchandise discount and status symbol. Well, then I think that I won't subscribe, I'll just update my adblocker's rules.

No you subscribe mainly to show support for Last.fm. The site alone is great enough. If you think the price is too high then disable the adblocker to view the ads. That's also showing support. I think the real ads look much nicer than these anti-adblocker ads btw.

Great enought? The site is nothing more than a horrible redesigned pale shadow of old self. And why should I support site which doesn't give a damn about its own users? Especially since as I said, I see no anti-adblocker ads, I got rid of them.

So essentially you're not here about the ads, you just like to complain. Noted.

The real ads are not that bad at the moment, try disabling the adblocker to see.
