What I've wished for a thousand times on the old site and the new is to be able to add notes for (and/or bookmark) the artists I want to listen to later and, more importantly, to add why they've caught my eye.

Sometimes you find a good recommendation but you simply don't have any time at the moment to check the artist out.

The tags were no good for this because you would have to add tags like "found on the *** blog", "band X mentioned they listen to it a lot", "wanna cover this song", "listen to it on Christmas"... etc.
Simply adding the artist to your library was no good either because when I would stumble over them again, I could't remember the sentiment.

It would also be super convenient with the recommendations on the home page - they tend to suggest different things every time and I lose track of what I got interested in.

What do you think?

Why not just bookmark the artist page in your internet browser? I already do this, only takes a couple seconds.

E.g. I have a folder named "New Artists To Look Into". One of the bookmarks might be named:
"LIGHTS - Dreampop - Beautiful Vocals (13/09)"  for example.

Also I seem to remember hearing a response from the Last.fm team about bookmarking artists like you're asking for. It's probably on their to-do list.

Short answer: too complicated.

Long answer: I actually used to do so, but then that folder grew too big and I couldn't remember why I even had all these artists bookmarked. Plus I already have a very messy list of other non-music bookmarks:(
What you suggest is one solution but I would like to have it on the site, where I keep the rest of my music stats.
I also used to put them in a last.fm journal but that proved to be too much work :(

It's good to know that the staff is considering something like this. Thank you for that information!

Hmm. I just remove the bookmark one I've checked out the artist, so things stay tidy. Alternatively just keep everything noted down in an MS Word document or something?

Also I'm not 100% certain this feature is planned, but I remember seeing a staff member talking about it. I haven't been able to find that thread though using the forum search, there's just too many threads and search results!

I know, I know, there are creative ways around it. There's nothing wrong with using them but I would like to just be able to open a tab and have every artist linked to their respective pages and stuff so I could revisit everything quickly and from any computer.

Alternatively, you know, I could always just buy a paper notebook. There's nothing wrong with paper either! :)
