I miss some features of the old desktop scrobbler.

See scrobbles in cache.
Some statistics of the artist/album in reproduction.
Full integration with iTunes, open any and the other opens automatically too.

You can still download the old/legacy scrobbler from the Track My Music page, if that's the version you want. The only issue is it's no longer being updated, so if it doesn't work for you or stops working, then you're kind of obliged to use the new scrobbler.

Where is the 'new scrobbler' you are talking about Elliot? Looks like my Desktop Last.fm scobbler isn't working anymore and am looking to upgrade or re-install with another version if there's one out there.. Not seeing it apparent for me to download...

They're both available on the Track My Music page I linked in my original reply...

I was looking for the Mac Desktop app... I only see the one.. It looks like you were talking about two (one old and one newer one).. Am I wrong about that?

I'm using Windows but I can see "Try the Mac version" options for both the current and legacy scrobblers (below). However, having clicked the seemingly distinct links for both, it seems they go to the same page. Clearly the legacy version isn't available for Mac.

If your scrobbler has stopped working on Mac, you should search the forums for Mac scrobbler issues. If none come up, you should start a new thread - especially if this has only recently happened.

It's just being realistic. I could say "it's under consideration" but that would be disingenuous as it really isn't feasible right now.

We don't have the same resources we had back when the old client was released, so as much as we'd like an all-singing and all-dancing desktop client, building a feature rich desktop app that replicates the functionality of the website doesn't make sense for us right now, given our current resources and priorities. If you really want that functionality (artist bios, friends listening now, etc), it still works in the old client, and that's why we still offer it for download.

That's fair enough, Jon.

What I would personally ask is that the next iteration includes support for scrobbling compilation albums, as it currently doesn't with the Windows scrobbler. Weirdly, I think the Mac scrobbler does?!

Anyway, since the site itself now supports the correct aggregation of compilation albums, it seems pretty important the scrobbler matches up to that ability.

Well, nothint works. So you have to give us a chance to scobble, or last fm is worthless.
