Closed/Removed thread viewing

I finally get it. I get what others are complaining about now. My idea thread was closed with no way to find out why. If it's because others came in and made off topic posts wouldn't it be more feasible to have a mod delete those posts instead of closing the whole thread? Also, as the thread starter I should be able to see why a thread was closed or removed. Common decency would dictate it.

I'm not trying to stir trouble, I'm just generally curious as to why my thread vanished.

If it was one of my comments that has lead to it, I'm sorry for your intention and you conversations "groups/forums", even when I'm not sorry for my comments as themself.
I understand the need of LFM to keep the topics clean. It's a support forum not a forum for general discussions. That's why I would appreciate a better solution to handle off topic comments/replies.
It's better when I have to live with the deletion of a comment, than a complete thread would be close. My fault when I'm off topic - in case of being off topic is such a shame. I remember to an earlier state off development of this young community, when off topic contributions were been moved to a sepetate thread. Maybe this solution is able to satisfy more people than the current practice. Sorry for your inconvenience Kaee Chan. I hope, my suggestion can help to create a solution for this issue.

I really don't think it was you, since your comments added to the topic at hand. No need for an apology. :)

I do agree with you though. There must be a better way to keep a  thread on track then removing the whole thread because one or two post go 'off topic'. Remove the comments with that reason alone, not the entire thread.
