Under this new 'ideas need to be voted for' trend, I thought I'd make this post.
Hey, I have an idea for this site! Can you bring back the groups/forums to this site? The social aspect of this site was a huge reason I came here.

Then we can talk amongst ourselves without you having to close these threads because the thread 'gets off track' because people want to have a conversation.

So, yeah, groups/forums needs to be a thing.

That answer is one and a half years old, surely there must be some sort of update on the subject. Are the developers working on groups right now?

That is correct Staffan, but accordingly to Jon's explanation 3 weeks ago, the thread to which you refer is only a question. And for the voting concept a thread like this one - posted as an idea - is necessary. (As far as I understand.) Therefore Kaeechan's thread isn't the worst idea for all who want to push the development of groups. As far as I understand, you would also appreciate the return of the groups, right?

I get your point, but if you post saying this has been answered then people think the thread is over and not worth voting on, plus these thread are over a year old. ??? It's mind boggling....

I'm doing this in reference to the thread that Andreas_Wotte referenced above.

Jon also says there "Some other pointers to get the most out of our forums:
Duplicate threads, please let me know if you find them, so I can merge them into one single topic (this will add their 'me-too' votes together).

As he doesn't actually say how to let him know I think it is great that He's dead, Jim! has added the threads above on this 'idea' thread.
Hope Jon pops by sometime to confirm.

^ This is why threads get closed. I'm starting to believe it's pointless to even try.

I really wasn't referring to the comment, I was referring to the pic. Not sure what that had to do with anything.... Maybe, I'm out of the loop.

zzz closed her account. I think the point is encompassed with some anger that a forum/conversation lead to bans.

They took music accounts this time; 7 years worth of music from someone who was not present in the “conversation” (that sucks and no one to get a hold of) I am guessing with the so-called mod here above she (zzz, lost some music as well) -remarkable how this know it all is always around  trouble. I guess this was the place to post and close account here?

Threads are closed unless it is pro-project zero or a simple problem that can be answered.
Blame on anything you want, but this place is anti-social.

Good luck with a old idea. I think it is time for many to move on.

Ok, it's the wrong thread for this theme PT, but I'm sorry for the - what - a quarantine or a ban of Sodapop, Jasmin, Twinkie, Tiff and Bri - whatever. Nobody should close anything as long as no one of staff has explained what happend and why. So I guess, it's better zzz didn't close her account before we get more clearness here. Actually nobody seems to prepared to talk about this "circumstances" - for whatever reason. (Without zzz and Stafan of course (and that wasn't helpful)) (Btw. Sorry for being off topic Kaee Chan.)

Thank's for the wishes PJ. In any case I'm glad that you and "*" are still on board. It's sad to loose friends here from one day to another. Like forums and groups the community will need your voice as well as every other, even when it's not so diplomatic as my. In any way better than psychobabble. Last.fm and it's core ideas are worth it. There's more to win than a moral victory. Feel free to pm me or leave a shout.

I've seen this week different conversations to the topic "tags", have been merged. So the idea got 86 likes. Maybe it can be helpful to merge different threads with this topic to the actual thread by Kaee Chan, so the votes can be merged too.
Btw. I can't find the mentioned tag conversation. Can someone post the url please? Thank's.

Before we get any farther off-topic, let us just simply up-vote the idea of merging the aforementioned threads in Staffan's post with this one so we can up-vote the idea and maybe get this damn show on the road. Agreed?

Hi, this question has been answered numerous times, which is why the answer is listed under "FAQs". To reiterate: Last.fm would like restore group-like functionality to the website at some point, however there are no plans to do so in the immediate future.  There are no plans to bring back forums at this stage.

For clarity, we're going to be closing the duplicates threads on this topic.  Please click "Me too" on https://getsatisfaction.com/lastfm/topics/what-s-happened-to-groups-are-they-coming-back to express interest and follow the post for further updates on group functionality.   Thanks.
