HAVE YOUR SAY - Vote for features

This conversation is no longer open for comments or replies and is no longer visible to community members. The community moderator provided the following reason for archiving: This -> "the official response to this thread was to not use the voting system like this. Instead we should be giving a +1 to any existing single-topic threads that we agree with."

******  PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS POST BEFORE REPLYING  ******

Following a discussion in another topic, the idea of this particular conversation is to create something to help the Last FM team see which features (new and old) we the users actually want the most.

However, to achieve clarity, we all need to follow some simple rules for this discussion:

  1. Leave the first comment reply thread (which I will start after posting this) exclusively for listing features to vote on, described as simply and briefly as possible - e.g. groups, About Me personalisation, custom header images.
  2. Click 'Like' on any of the features in the list you'd like to see added.
  3. Do discuss features to add to the list but please, I repeat, DO NOT reply to this first comment thread. Instead, please scroll down to the box at the bottom that says "write a reply".
  4. If you accidentally comment on the first thread/list of features, please delete it and add as a new reply.
  5. If you want to add a feature to the list do feel free - remember to state it as clearly and briefly as possible - but please check that it hasn't already been listed. Remember, we're aiming for clarity here.

Ideally, it would be great if someone at Last FM (or perhaps one of the mods?) could make this a sticky topic so that it doesn't get lost down the list...

Finally, if nothing in the current list appeals please hit the follow button anyway, so you can vote on any future additions to this list of features.

Obviously, the more people that interact with this thread and vote the better! :)

Associate youtube scrobbled songs with the album they are in when choose to do so.

AKA: Associate track with album when the album appears in the URL

Examples:

1) Scrobble the album: https://www.last.fm/music/Leprous/Coal/Echo
2) Don't scrobble the album https://www.last.fm/music/Leprous/_/Echo

In example 1 the album appears in the URL, in example 2 there's a blank space there.

Great to see this has already got lots of ideas but can I just remind everyone to check the entire list before adding suggestions - we've already got one feature repeated.

Also, if any staff member or moderator is reading this thread (the hope!), could you delete any repeated requests as well as duplications caused by GetSat, please?

"count up the results"
@ James: We should do this anyway. Only for to make the ranking visible.

The point for I've wanted to get a confirmation was the structure of decisions. At this point we can see clear now.
Indeed Tiff, it would have been nice to be teached about the rules 500 days before.
And yes, the GetSat voting system is useful like athlete's foot when the ruler behind Last.FM the results of votings use as a thermometer - at best, and decide largely indepent from "the core community" what's to develop at next and what never. (Already this classification (core community = only a part = not sooo important) is a kind of disrespect.)

I share your feelings Ajax. - Of course, what else could I feel? I guess, every question by you and Tiff are worth for a thread (= idea). With enough votes, it can be interesting what happens, when Jon reports to the leadership about "What's up in the community". (Even if we have to see, that the thread will be archived and closed.)
As far as I currently understand, there is Last.fm as the old one and Last.fm + CBS with at least one boss from CBS as the decision maker(s). So in real we're struggling with a black box and Jon is "only" the connection, or keyhole to it, but not the box itself. At maximum a part of it. Ok, reason enough to feel deceived.

Hello, I hope you're fine. Is it possible to delete double entries in this thread? It looks like I can't delete my own double entries by myself. Thank's for your cooperation.

I think nothing is going to happen ... It's funny how moderators and website owners do not care about users' opinions.

This, please! You promised tags a year ago and we are still waiting. Meanwhile I started creating playlists on Spotify. I miss the old functional last.fm

@ Lennie: You find the official responce HERE.
It's a good reading to learn more about functionality of GetSat, the dilemma of Last.fm, hierarchical communication, the value of public spirit. :-/
So after all and after the missing help by mods or staff in this thread like Elliot was asking for, you can understand, this thread isn't very welcome.

Damn this is so frustrating. I'd call myself normally an optimistic or at least realistic person, but this is terrible. It's just sad to see such a good site (and community) getting ruined.

That's it Shelly! And btw. Someone could start a thread with the idea of making one (or more) of us to a moderator. Already writing? :-)

This user listens to artists with such velocity that the device is not able to catch his activities.
The device crashed and it keeps sending an error. "There was a problem loading Rock_Music_1001's recent tracks, please try again later."
That message shows when a user sets their Scrobbling activity to private. I know a few people who have done this and the same message appears. You can even try it yourself.

That Rock_Music_1001 is clearly trolling. Since I last visited his page (probably within the last week), he's changed his profile pic to a porn gif. You can tell from his replies to the shouts other users are leaving on his profile page that he doesn't give a shit about this site. He's just doing it to be a nuisance.

It took admins five days to banned him James Joul, thank the stars that we will never see him again. He finally got a banhammer on 22-23rd of February.

I wonder how many different ways we have to express ourselves before the last.fm decision-makers care enough to react.

If they had actually done so (care about their users' feedback) in the past, the numbers and traffic of said users would not have been decimated as much it has... and this complete downsized overhaul would not have been necessary. Ergo: not going to happen.

It's because people began to lose interest in last.fm and don't care anymore because of ignoring all their requests by last.fm staff.

Well, that and the fact the official response to this thread was to not use the voting system like this. Instead we should be giving a +1 to any existing single-topic threads that we agree with.

All official responses means nothing as we all already know :) Even if we all will vote +1 to all existing topics the result will be the same. And you know the the answer - it's ZERO :)
Nothing will change. Personally, I don't care anymore about last.fm as before.
If they will decide to close it - I will not be upset.
This train left...
