How do I report a release that's incorrect or missing from the catalogue?

There is no current facility to report an individual release that's missing from the catalogue. The import process is automated, and the team are unable to override it or manually add a release at present. It is sometimes possible to add a release for import by adding it to MusicBrainz, if it is not already in their database.

Releases are added to the catalogue by aggregating information from other services, including MusicBrainz, Discogs, iTunes and Amazon. Data including the track listing and release date is imported and added to the release page. (The album art and Wiki is added by the community.) This means that the data can only be imported if it exists on those services. The catalogue is updated once a week.

If a release is missing from the catalogue - this is the case if it's not listed on the Albums tab of the artist page, or if the release page doesn't have a tracklist - the first place to check is MusicBrainz. Although it is not the only place we import from, it's the most reliable site that can be edited by users. If the release is not there, add it yourself (refer to their documentation for how to do so) and wait 1-2 weeks, after which time the release should have been imported to our catalogue.

(An illustrated guide on how to import releases from Bandcamp to MusicBrainz, allowing Bandcamp releases to be imported to, is here.)

If the release is already listed on MusicBrainz and was added there more than 2 weeks ago, it is likely that the catalogue importer has missed this album. At present, it is not possible to routinely report this to us, nor for us to manually add it. We are, however, hoping to one day introduce a facility to allow us to intervene when the importer doesn't work as intended (including when the wrong tracklist is imported). A discussion thread for releases missed by the catalogue importer exists here.

If a release is missing from the catalogue, you can still scrobble it and can access its album page by going to its page url directly. The syntax to follow in order to do this is So, to access the release page for My Love Is Cool by Wolf Alice, go to This also works for EPs, singles and all other release types: To access the page for the single Bela Lugosi's Dead by Bauhaus, go to's+Dead.
