On our artist page we have wrong "similar artists", how to add the good one and remove the others ?
It's a big problem because some app and website use this "similar artist" like http://bandsintown.com/Reflex?came_from=234 to see the similar artists on tour :/

Let me know

Thank you

André

I don't think you're meant to update them yourself. I think they are automatically generated depending on which other artists your Last.fm listeners listen to the most. :)

As far as I know it's based on listening statistics so the only thing you can do is to tell your fanst to listen to other bands than they are doing today.

"I think they are automatically generated depending on which other artists your Last.fm listeners listen to the most. :)"

That's correct.

However, when several artists share the same name, typically the artist with the biggest reach (most listeners and scrobbles) will determine which similar artists are generated for the page.  In this specific case there's at least 7 known acts that perform under the name Reflex, so the similar artists and tags will reflect this mixture.

I'm afraid there's nothing that can be done about this at the moment -- at some point in the near future we're going to be doing artist disambiguation so that we can split these artists into their respective pages.  Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this in the meantime.

hi Jon.
How far are you in this process?
Personally, I have an artist name, which I share with other artists/bands. That is what it is, but the other bands doesn't exist/do not send out music anymore and it really harms our artist page, both on Last.fm and Spotify.
I have tried to add "tags" to some of our tracks and the artist name and it seems they are just "pending".
Hope to hear from you as this is a big issue for us.
Thank you.

Perhaps you should have checked if the name was already taken before deciding on a name.

Probably, but I had never in my wildest dreams (nightmares) thought that it would be such a pain to differentiate artist names? I mean, we are in 2018 and the system that is supposed to be "the future of the music industry" is some of the worst coding I have ever seen.
but thanks for the useful comment....!
