Bulk edit your scrobbles for any artist, album or track on Last.fm at once.

Star this project on GitHub!

Instructions
  1. Upgrade to Last.fm Pro.
  2. Install a userscript manager: Tampermonkey. (Greasemonkey is currently not supported, see FAQ on GitHub.)
  3. Install this userscript: Last.fm Bulk Edit.
  4. Go to your Last.fm library.
  5. Use the new "Edit scrobbles" menu item like in the examples on GitHub.

The bulk editing for artists is a bit "hidden", because the option to edit the artist name is only accessible in the 3-dot dropdown menu in your library in the Artists overview tab, not when you e.g. click on the number of your scrobbles on an artist profile which will directly open your library page for that artist showing only his albums and tracks then. The embedded explanation video in the Reddit thread does not show this option, as far as I remember,  only the Edit Album option. It also is a bit fast for old men like me. ;-)

Edit Artist looks like this: the numbers of tracks, albums and album artists are underlined, as they show a new dropdown list with affected scrobbles when hovering them with your mouse:

Loading several thousands of artist scrobbles into the editor can take a few seconds and might fail if the site performance is slow for other reasons. So don't start a bulk edit when the site is lagging or shows errors 500 etc.

This userscript can help fixing known Deezer scrobbling issues, too, like adding missing ampersand symbols in artist, album and track names. So it is not only useful for Spotify issues like unwanted "Remastered..." additions to album and track names. Also changing misspelt, changed and/or wrongly autocorrected artist names in your library is much easier with it.

I agree, ideally users should just be able to go to any artist page and initiate the bulk edit from there. I'll see if I can improve this. For now, you'll have to go to the artist overview of your library, and browse the pages until you find the artist you want to edit.

There are a couple of example GIFs on the GitHub page that should help you and others getting started with using this userscript: https://github.com/RudeySH/lastfm-bulk-edit

I'll also see if I can improve error handling when the site is failing. Currently, you might end up with your bulk edit being partially applied, although I've not have had that happen to me personally yet. It's not too bad considering you can just initiate the bulk edit again to fix a partially edited album/artist.

Right, the FAQs on your GitHub page also have an animated GIF for bulk artist editing:

I'm looking forward to your announced improvements for handling compilations with multiple artists, in my case several Wagner opera cycles with more than 200 tracks and the same release name, but different performers (track artists and album artists).

I already replied to your comment on reddit, but I figured I might as well reply here. The script has been updated and it now contains the aforementioned improvements that should help when editing compilations. My thanks, also :-)
Now I'm in search of those "album [cd1]" and the like that I always wanted to get rid of, and wasn't in the mood to take their individual songs and edit (in bulk) the scrobbles.
Worked very good for me, too; and I like also the percentage that help you into checking the status of the on-going operation.

Today, the script has been updated with some new features/improvements. (v0.2.0)

- An album selection dialog will appear to allow you to select which albums you would like to edit.

- When editing compilations, you can select overlapping albums that are scrobbled with different album artists.

- You can now edit tracks and albums when bulk editing an entire artist. There will be a confirmation message if you attempt to merge multiple tracks or albums into one, to prevent you from making mistakes that cannot be undone.

- Violentmonkey is now officially supported.

- The loading screens display more information about what action is running, progress, etc.

Oh, and here's a link to the reddit post that further explains the new features. https://www.reddit.com/r/lastfm/comments/f4qh3p/the_latest_version_of_my_bulk_edit_script_enables/
