I want to completely delete my account from last.fm's servers

last.fm's servers were hacked in 2012 and the data has only just surfaced on the internet, along with 37,217,682 other users according to "have i been pwned".

I have found the "deactivate account" section under my profile, but this seems like it will only disable the account. I want to delete all my data from the server. How can I do this? I don’t mind filling in a contact form.

I thought that once when you "delete" your account, all of the activity of yours that you did gets permanently removed. What about those "This shoutbox is an unavailable" description, is that not proof enough that your activity, together with your profile deleted permanently?

Then how is it conceivable to back up your account after you terminate it? Did Last.FM develop a reactivation window that gives you the ability to reactivate yourself again? Because it happened to me a couple of times to see friends of mine who reactivated their account 2 or 3 weeks after original deactivation.

Yes, you can now reactivate your account after any amount of time and can't permanently delete it.

So, does it mean that if someone (stupidly) resets a huge chunk of their listening history, is possible to retrieve it?!

I too did create like 3 posts about this and went ignored as usual. I am guessing they'll never let us delete everything permanently.

I would like to delete this account.  I am receiving notices from my monitoring service that this account was compromised.  Changed my password from 10 years ago but want them to delete my data.

Likewise. Since last.fm is in the UK, surely they are subject to the Data Protection Act and if you withdraw consent for them to hold your data then they are legally required to remove it.

I would also like to completely delete my account along with all the data. Did anyone get a response from Last.fm about this?

Haha, "get a response from Last.fm about it"??  Surely you are joking.
