I was not the long-term user of last.fm, I had just been for 1,5 year on that awesome site. I loved it at first sight. As long as I look deeper and deeper I was founding something interesting. After a year I still had something new which I didn't expect. Last.fm was my life, because I'm quite of music fanatic.
I was frightened when I heard about new last.fm, but I didn't even think that it could be that bad as it is. I specially bought a premium to look at new features, and I was terrified when I saw beta for the first time. It seemed to be a joke. But hell no, it was not a joke.
I hoped that you would do something with our stuff which we sent to you, about new site and things we were missing. But hell no, you did only very small changes. And then, finally, you opened new last.fm.
I cannot say what is missing on new last.fm, because there are too many things. Sidebar, groups, journals, friends ("followers" is funny system, but only in black humour - friendly atmosphere of site faded away in a while), charts, "0 scrobbles" artists, eight "top artists", this "compatibility system", average scrobbles per day, list of friends listening this band on band site, people listening now.. and it's just a small amount of things which I can remember I miss.

People saying "this is good" (or, increasingly, awesome) is not obiective, because even if they see good things (because they are, but it's maybe.. 5% of this?) it's not the point. We should have upgraded last.fm, with new features and without losing something. What we get? Last.fm without any good feature and staff who don't do something with us, with our problems, saying neutral answers. You are treating us like a shit, like someone clever said. And it's not fair.
I understand you cannot answer to everyone nor change everything in one day, but it's still not fair.

Above all, I want to stay with you, last.fm, because you stole me more than year of life, and I'm fuckin' happy of it. But if this is future of this site, I will be driven to leave this, eh, Best Site in Internet. (until it was changed)

I completely agree. I've been here since 2010 and I'm just really, really disappointed. last.fm was my home and I felt joy everytime I was on the website, but it has been taken away. It does not feel like my home anymore. The website is just a copy of twitter now. I mean, seriously? Followers? I want to have mutual friends - not have random people I don't know follow me with no ability to stop it. All our favourite features have been taken away without warning and if it's gonna come back, it's going to take MONTHS (according to staff). I miss the old last.fm.

Yup, this MONTHS sounds like they are trolling us or they are arrogant like this? I can't believe how it's everything going.

Months?! Is that serious? Wow... what the hell, why release a website MONTHS before it is even properly ready? :/

Ya, this was said by staff. It's a mystery for all of us, why they released it when it's not even running in good way.

in my 10 years here, with 180,000 "true listener" scrobbles, I created countless artist wiki's, created and events and posted numerous high-quality journals, added links to and posts about key tech assists for users and to lyrics on song pages, and had thousands of posts and hundreds of messages...... Last.fm killed it. Staggering. They meant to do that... they had to have meant to change the place to an advertising platform for devices while trying to keep a vast portion of low-involvement users so they can market more and make more money. The system eats its own... and kills itself...

I'm new to last.fm just a few weeks but since it changed I can't even get music to play at all. The other site was simple and would play music, I liked it much better. I didn't really use all the features etc just listened to some music and let it suggest things for me but now it seems even that will not work.

ICYMI, Tomahawk is working on Hatchet, definitely it would be a better alternative to this new shitty last.fm: http://blog.hatchet.is/post/79083383032/hatchetisnear
