Yes! Missing tracks on 3 Albums. André Wall- Dream Away 2002 has 1 Track missing since yesterday. Track number 9- Memories.
And Invictus- Out of the Night (2010) has the 1st Track ”Daffodils” Missing on the Albums Tracklist. Invictus- Love for the Dead(2014) has 7 Tracks missing. All songs are still on the Artist Tracklist, but without on which Album they belong to.. :(

Wow, I guess I'm not the only one who has this problem. I hope Last.FM has plans to fix this.

We're definitely working on this, it's currently under active development so not to worry.

To explain what to expect; our catalogue is updated by melding together data from a lot of different sources. Obviously, we're not (yet) getting it right in all cases but I do hope to improve over time. So what we do is we update the code so that the next update set is a bit better, rather than manually edit the listing (since it would posibly get overwritten by an update anyway).

In this case the listing has come from Amazon and it looks like they append "[explicit]" tags on the end of their track names as a marker (rather than the flag being some track metadata). That's actually good to know, but one of the fixes we're working on is to select a track listing where a majority of sources agree. I think this is a better solution, but it will take a bit longer than simply stripping parts off the end of the name.

"... a track listing where a majority of sources agree ..."
That is a welcome information. The normal spread of error rates leads to a chaotic catalogue. I wish you success.

@Hitobat - Will you be running a user-feedback for album tracklistings like you have for the artist and album names?

This question is partly prompted because I see many albums I listen to where they have the standard album title but then use the deluxe edition tracklisting. This issue is also causing artwork voting disputes where the deluxe (or other) edition artwork is uploaded/upvoted to match the track listing.

I believe this problem is going to be mainly caused by sources like MusicBrainz - a great resource for accurate information in a general sense, but their styling rules mean you're not meant to include things like "(Deluxe Edition)" in the album name (unless it explicitly says so on the artwork, being an exception). As such, if Last FM's catalogue is relying on their info, then this sort of issue is going to keep occurring.

Is the staff aware of this issue and if so, do you have plans to address it?

We are aware of the problem, and in general I think it's happening because, depending on the scoring we use to match the different sources, we may think there's only one album version there (as opposed to 2 or more). If that happens, and also the deluxe versions of the albums are the more-scrobbled ones then we end up with the deluxe track-listing being the one that gets used.

The intention for the end-result in future (I think, although this may cause some discussion in the office) is that we'd have different album releases linked from an album page, similar to how MusicBrainz do it. Therefore the tracklisting on that front album page would be the original release tracklisting, or maybe a tracklisting showing only tracks common to all the releases (i.e. the intersection).

Since we're not quite modelling this relationship yet in the data, I think a good goal to shoot for would be to have the regular album URL show the regular tracklisting. And then have another deluxe version of the album with the deluxe tracklisting. e.g.
http://www.last.fm/music/Selena+Gomez/Revival
http://www.last.fm/music/Selena+Gomez/Revival+%28Deluxe%29

With regards to image uploads / voting; I'm not sure what the "correct" thing to do is in this case currently. My personal suggestion would be whatever makes your user library page album-images look correct (although perhaps this is indeed the source of the conflict?) That said I'll defer to the community / support staff on whatever the final call is.

Thanks for the reply, Hitobat.

The intention for the end-result in future (I think, although this may cause some discussion in the office) is that we'd have different album releases linked from an album page, similar to how MusicBrainz do it. Therefore the tracklisting on that front album page would be the original release tracklisting
So the album variations would be nested, in the format of www.last.fm/music/artist/album/album+%28deluxe+version%29 - Is this what you mean? I can see how this could make for a cleaner layout, though I'm not sure I agree with it. Would the scrobbles be aggregated for the front/parent page? However, the following comment does concern me somewhat:

...or maybe a tracklisting showing only tracks common to all the releases (i.e. the intersection).
This is a terrible idea. The intersection of tracks, from an accuracy point of view, would generally be meaningless and, more times than users would like, actually wrong. This seems like a bad fudging, in terms of having accurate music catalogue listings.

Your example using Selena Gomez is what Last FM already does, right? I think this makes the most sense, personally.

As for the image voting situation...
My personal suggestion would be whatever makes your user library page album-images look correct
I totally agree but some people seem to think that the unqualified name (i.e. how MusicBrainz does it without the explicit "deluxe edition" in the name) is how it should be for all versions. MusicBrainz does actually add this information (as a disambiguation note), but Last FM obviously doesn't draw its information from this tag - could this be rectified?

I would suggest that the album name should be the determining factor for the tracklisting shown, i.e. if I use Nick Jonas' latest album to illustrate the problem:

http://www.last.fm/music/Nick+Jonas/Last+Year+Was+Complicated - standard edition but with deluxe edition tracklisting. This has prompted both the standard edition artwork (black and white) and the deluxe edition artwork (colour) to be uploaded. As it stands, it's currently showing the right artwork. However, the deluxe edition doesn't have a tracklisting -
http://www.last.fm/music/Nick+Jonas/Last+Year+Was+Complicated+(Deluxe+Edition)

Similarly, Mariah Carey's last album ( http://www.last.fm/music/Mariah+Carey/Me.+I+Am+Mariah%E2%80%A6The+Elusive+Chanteuse ) correctly has standard edition artwork (for the moment) but the deluxe tracklist. Again, the deluxe version ( http://www.last.fm/music/Mariah+Carey/Me.+I+Am+Mariah%E2%80%A6The+Elusive+Chanteuse+(Deluxe+Version) ) has no tracklisting/official entry in the Last FM catalogue.

These are just two such examples; I'm sure there are many more.

Glad to hear you're on the case, at least. Do you have an ETA for when these catalogue kinks are hoping to be smoothed out by?

I'm bumping this ticket hoping that the dev team will see it. Here's another album where half of the songs are missing. https://www.last.fm/music/Living+in+a+Box/Living+In+A+Box

Sorry if I'm somewhat off the topic, but I've just stumbled on a duplicate track on a tracklist, though it's quite correct on Musicbrainz.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Album tracklist has changed to the wrong one.

I've left the title vague again in case it's worth making this a collaborative thread to highlight such issues, but I've just noticed the Delta Goodrem album Delta has suddenly (it wasn't like this a day or two ago) had its tracklist changed to the wrong list, in fact it's now showing a variation of the tracks from her debut album Innocent Eyes instead.

Another incorrect tracklist: https://www.last.fm/music/The+Lone+Ranger/Slow+Motion+EP
The cover says it all.
The tag is also weird.

And one more: https://www.last.fm/music/The+Lone+Ranger/Depth+Perception

Only three tracks, which, really, are 1, 2 and 4 respectively.
External links on the right are absolutley incorrect.
