iOS app scans duplicate scrobbles

Recently I downloaded the new iOS official app and I found a critical problem. When I put some music into my iPhone from iTunes and listen to a song once, for example, it will scan a massive number of scrobbles for the song. Here's an example - the song 212. I only listened to it once on my phone and it got 10+ scrobbles all at once. Please fix this!

It's a limitation we can't work around -- for any given track, we can only access the playcount and the timestamp of the last play.  We internally keep track of what's been submitted after each scan, but if you sync with itunes later then the playcount for that track may increase, and we'll treat those as new scrobbles.  This is why we've defaulted to editing scrobbles on, so you can discard unwanted desktop scrobbles.

Basically if you use anything that syncs plays across devices, we recommend that you scan and submit your scrobbles shortly after listening on mobile, before syncing your plays with itunes, and then rescan and discard any extra desktop scrobbles that show up.

This happened again... Here's the thing.

1. I put music (both new and old) from iTunes into my phone.
2. I listen to some music on my phone.
3. I use the iOS app to scan the scrobbles.
4. Scrobbles from a long time ago, e.g. months ago, show up.
5. The number of scrobbles is too big, over hundreds. So it's exhausting for me to edit them.
6. I submit the scrobbles and my last.fm is a mess.

The recommended solution doesn't work either. I always scan and discard after syncing my iphone with itunes, in theory to make last.fm know the current play count so only new scrobbles should appear next time I scan. Today I played a track once after scanning and discarding, and when I scanned and scrobbled, it scrobbled it 315 times!
What's even more annoying is that you can't see or edit the number of scrobbles for a given track before approving them, so you don't know if it's going to do it once or 200 times.
AND then you can't delete scrobbles from the app, you have to do it from the website.
AND then there's no nice way to go through, tick lots of scrobbles and click delete. You have to do it one by one.
Such a bore. :-(
