Hi! What are you using to scrobble? And which version? (Some people including myself use iTunes when scrobbling songs from my iPod. I use Last.FM deskstop scrobbler 2.1.37 and my iTunes version is 12.4.3.1.) :)

True - it still works on this older version of iTunes, but not updating software isn't really a proper solution as it opens you up to security issues. I've asked Last.fm to comment about whether they will fix it, but no response so far.

Yeah, I agree with that. :P I've always had issues with my desktop PC + Windows Updates, so that's why I have an older version of iTunes. It seems the only way to scrobble from your iPod is through the Foobar suggestion (that you mentioned in your post).

There's still a fair amount of people who use iPods, but technology has surpassed portable music players and most people stream their music these days. :(

That's a good question. I am able to scrobble my iPod Classic (using the old iTunes and LFM scrobbler), but it constantly gives me multiple scrobbles of the same song.

I hope you will receive an official answer, but I don't think it matters which iPod you are scrobbling from. This workaround seems to be a catch-all for all iPods.

OK I've decided to bite the bullet on this and revert to an older version of iTunes.

The newest working version I can find that is available from Apple is 12.6.4, downloadable from here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208079.

There are a couple of things you have to do to get it working as it will not recognise a library created by a newer version of iTunes.

1. In the latest iTunes go to Preferences > Advanced  and tick "Share iTunes Library XML with other applications"
2. Close iTunes, go to your iTunes folder (usually in your Music folder) and cut and safely backup these files:
"iTunes Library.itl" and "iTunes Music Library.xml"
3. Uninstall the current iTunes and the new Desktop scrobbler. I also uninstalled all the other Apple programs like Bonjour & Apple Mobile Device Support, but this may not be necessary.
4. Install iTunes 12.6.4
5. Open iTunes and go to File > Library > Import Playlist  and pick the backed up "iTunes Music Library.xml"
6. Finally it might be necessary to re-install the legacy Last.fm scrobbler.

Yeah, thanks for everything but I did everything you said, it doesn't pick up a single scrobble from my iPod.

I'm not sure. The download has been updated to 12.6.5. but it still works. You are definitely using the Legacy scrobbler (with the album art) and it's picking up scrobbles played in iTunes?

Can confirm reverting itunes works as I re-did this recently.

Working on my machine:
iTunes 12.6.4.3
Scrobbler 2.1.37

Make sure you remove the Desktop scrobbler though and and just have the old legacy one.
