You can only scrobble a track you're actively listening to, if you want your profile to show more songs, then you're going to have to listen to them first.

Hi,
there's some degree of confusion in your post, probably due to the fact that you are new to last.fm

Scrobbling to last.fm occurs, indeed after at playing the song at least half (50%).
Plus a bit of complications :-) :
songs longer than 8 minutes wil scrobble after 4 minutes of play, not at strict 50% -- for instance, a song that has 30 minutes long, will not scroble at 15 minutes, but at 4 !
Also there is a limit of min. 31 seconds of song length in order to be scrobbled; due to this, a song that has only 50 seconds length, will scrobble after 30 seconds of play, not at 25 seconds !! ).

Those been stated, it's not clear what are your uncertainties regarding scrobbling; you need/want to import some list of played song ?
What do you want to do with those "tons" of songs ? They are where ?
Or, rather, the Scrobbler app does not work properly, and you find the played songs only in a list, locally, but they are not actually scrobbled to last.fm (and need to figure out the cause for this ?)

You actually can import the database of your local media player (iTunes or WMP) with a free Windows desktop app called Last.fm Scrubbler. But the original date of your songs being played on your computer cannot be imported, as Last.fm only accepts scrobbles up to 14 days old. So they would all get the current date for being scrobbled.

Furthermore you can only import up to 2.8k songs per day, so if you have more, you would need to split them.
