I am a web programmer and it should not take weeks to change over. At most it should have taken 48 hours. Everything should have been ready to come live at the same time.. Most things do not work. Things that used to scrobble now don't .

It appears that the staff at last.fm doesn't listen to their user base. Ihey close out conversations on the old web site. -- sign of not listen the user base.

I am almost ready to delete my who account and say bye-bye to this thing that I have been a part of for about 8 years. or so...

I agree that this has been a complete cock-up, but things are slowing improving. Perhaps a vacation from last.fm for a few months will show significant progress back to where they were before the change over.

There seem to be a number of areas that weren't tested or even ready to test at the time of the switch over. The changes to the database appear to be significant and the APIs must not have been documented to permit them to be upgraded with the site and database.

I've stopped going to the site. I used to always have it open in a tab, but now it's so ugly and there's so little on my profile now it's pointless. Had the lab installed that automatically updated the recently played list but they've taken that away so you have to refresh and reload the ads if you haven't already blocked that. I still scrobble but that's just for whatever new site comes along and allows me to use my scrobbles there.

I'm pretty much down with last.fm, they no longer care about their users. I've used Audioscrobbler since 2004. I've been through hideous changes of looks before but it's never completely broken this site like this has.
