iTunes 12.7 - not scrobbling [Windows]

I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes (12.7) and it does not appear to scrobble my tracks. It does not even open the scrobbler when I close and reopen iTunes. I have re-downloaded the iTunes plug in, then uninstalled and re-downloaded the scrobbler. Neither has worked. Is there a way to fix this? I am on a Windows 10 computer also.

So, I updated to the new iTunes (, and it seems the scrobbling is working again (using current scrobbler v.2.1.37).

The latest fun is that I can't close iTunes unless I close the Scrobbler first. If I try to close iTunes I get the message that another app is using the interface, blah blah blah, and when I click ok to close, iTunes closes and then just pops back open again. It does this as many times as I'll let it.

And, when I have closed iTunes after closing the Scrobbler, if I turn my computer back on or, more often, bring it back from sleep, I have to open iTunes first, then go open the Scrobbler. It won't automatically open along with iTunes, and it conversely doesn't show Scrobbles.

I downloaded the new version but it's a .msi file and I can't open it. Can someone help me?

You should be able to right-click it and choose "Install" from the context menu.

But if you need iPod scrobbling, too, you should keep the old scrobbler and install the new iTunes version 12.7.1, because Apple has fixed it recently.

Well neither scrobbler works on my 64 bit windows machine. itunes 12.7 or windows media player. i have tried all of these things but nothing at all. i can only scrobbler through spotify or the chrome plug in.

Check the connected apps in your website settings if both scrobblers have access to your account:

lol scrobbler works fine now, but now I can't open iTunes after updating my Windows 10, and updating to iTunes 12.7.1

Ok, I think this thread has pretty much run it's course, as this issue has been resolved both in the latest version of itunes and via the new Windows desktop scrobbler.  For now, you can choose which you'd prefer to use, as both clients currently work ok with the latest itunes.  You can get them both here: 

Although please keep in mind that future updates will most likely only happen on the v3.1.x build of the desktop scrobbler -- we'll keep v2.1.x available to download for supporting older platforms, such as ipod classic, but unfortunately we're not able to future proof it against future itunes updates (hence why we built a new client).  Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.

If you encounter further issues with the new desktop client, please start a new discussion topic so that we can address those problems specifically.  Incidentally, we've just deployed a new update ( with additional bugfixes.
