Can't scrobble cuz on scrobbler is displayed "ITUNES NOT RUNNING" while Itunes exactly is running and ipod is synchronized. this question has been here already, but none of the solutions did not help the way .

That looks like you still have an older version of the Last.fm scrobbler which cannot recognise your new 64-bit version of iTunes. Try to download and install the latest v2.1.37 for Windows if you haven't done this yet.

People use iTunes on Windows? I would assume it was a Mac issue.

I'm using the latest version of the scrobbler you mention and I'm having this problem everytime I try to scrobble my iPod. I've been losing hundreds of plays each day since I started using 64-bit iTunes. Please please please fix this.

Any news about this? People have been reporting this exact issue since at least January 2015, that's over a YEAR. It's getting a bit silly. http://www.last.fm/forum/34905/_/2239688

Why are you guys keep suggesting to update to the latest version when ITunes support is clearly broken there? Plus, how long has it been since it was updated?

And if anything, before the redesign (which went smooth as hell, right?) the 1.5.2 version of the scrobbler worked VERY GOOD. And it supported x64 versions of Itunes. Too bad dev guys decided to change damned API so now it doesn't work.

Right, you can go to advanced features in WMP to convert, but you need to undo it and it takes about 5 minutes each way, and that is just for loading files from itunes to wmp, then revert back to mp3 playback to scrobble. Wouldn't it be more feasible to reformat the desktop app.? rather than suggesting media players that at a long shot might work and updating to what? This has gotten obtuse.

There are well over 1/2 billion itunes users worldwide $$$$

Started having this same problem today after no problems a few days ago, it's really annoying. I can't for the life of me figure this Foobar stuff out so I'm basically just praying the original problem will get fixed.

I have the exact same problem since I updated my iTunes. When I want to scrobble tracks I've listened to on my iPod I get the message 'ITUNES NOT RUNNING'. I had the same problem about a year ago but then I managed to convert the iTunes update to a 32-bit version. When I try to do that now, iTunes doesn't work at all...... so I'm stuck with the 64-bit version. What can I do to scrobble tracks I've listened to with my iPod? Please help!

I found a way to scrobble songs played on my iPod: start iTunes on your desktop and play music. Then start the scrobbler. Connect your iPod to your desktop and just wait. After 5 to 10 minutes the scrobbler automaticly scrobbles the music I listened to on my iPod. Workes for me!

I haven't been able to scrobble my iPod ever since the site 'update'. I keep getting the "iTunes not running" error even though I have a current, perfect good version of iTunes as well as the current Scrobbler.
Can someone please fix this?? It used to work perfectly. Why change that?

Same issue here. I'm using Windows 7, and ever since I updated to the newer version of iTunes (64-bit, 12.4.something) last week, the Last.fm scrobbler stopped scrobbling my iPod. I tried reinstalling the scrobbler following tips on some thread on these forums, but that didn't solve the issue. I have since updated to the prompted newest version (64-bit, 12.4.1.6), but I haven't tried scrobbling my iPod yet in fear of it being as useless as before.

At least you've been able to scrobble tracks up until that point. I've not been able to scrobble from my iPod since the site was initially changed.

I worked around earlier scrobbling issues by installing the 2.1.33 version of the Last.fm scrobbler and scrobbling my iPod manually with it. Perhaps it's something worth trying again, as that version seems to be the latest problem free scrobbler... Not sure how it works with the newest version of iTunes, though.

Where do you see the "iTunes not running" message? I've been having trouble with iPod scrobbling for weeks now, it works from time to time, but I don't see that message you mentioned, so something else must be wrong...

In the LastFM Scrobbler. Go to the 'Help' menu then 'Diagnostics' then click 'Scrobble iPod'. All it comes up with is the "ITUNES NOT RUNNING" message.

Unbelievable. Admittedly some of the comments were getting a bit out of hand but deleting all of them is just not cool at all.

Has this problem ever been solved? I've not been able to scrobble any song from my iPod since the site 'updated'. Years ago. Using the most recent itunes and scrobbler and still says "Itunes not running" when i try to manually scrobble tracks.

This comment worries me. I'm having this same problem right now where I'm able to scrobble from iTunes using the Desktop Last.fm app, but I'm unable to scrobble from my iPod...which is where I listen to 99% of my music. I really hope this gets sorted out because if I can't scrobble from my iPod, this site is basically obsolete to me.

Crap had to repost since some reason it says at login something does not match.
anyway round 2.
Seems apple kills the scrobble ability every update. plus those idiots ruined itunes due to removing app management ability too. Kinda Pis ing me  badly.

For iTunes (windows) users struggling to get scrobbling working after the latest update (12.7.4), please note that we have a dedicated iTunes scrobbler which you can download from this page:  https://www.last.fm/about/trackmymusic  (Direct download link).  However, please be aware that we are unable to offer official support for iPod scrobbling with this version.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

For iPod users it may still possible to scrobble iPod devices using Foobar2000, with the ipod manager and audioscrobbler components.  Information on how to set this up can be found here and here.

Note also that version 2.1.37 of the Last.fm windows scrobbler is deprecated and will not be further updated.
