This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Auto-correct collateral damage.

Since yesterday I have another bunch of artists with strange number of scrobbles in my library, most likely due to auto-corrects at the time of their scrobblings.
I suppose this started to become a problem after recent small changes in the catalogue, that are supposed to be part of the beta, but are already implemented slowly into the current catalogue (? ... that's my impression at least).

Let me be more specific (my last.fm user is "corneld"):

None of the artists above really have that amount of scrobbles !!
Medwyn Goodall for example really has more than 1000 scrobbles...
As far as I can detect these came to my library as above due to some auto-corrects made at the time of their respective scrobbling.

For instance, I found a scrobble for "Bob Dylan & the Band" instead of Bob Dylan And The Band (of course it was auto-corrected).
Similarly, I had some Michael Buble instead of Michael Bublé
Also, OMD instead of Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark.
And can't possibly imagine how was the exact bad scrobble instead of Medwyn Goodall or Roger Subirana and got auto-corrected to the proper names.

I came to identify the "Bob Dylan & The Band" scrobble, and remove it from my library.
Similar for OMD and Michael Buble.

But the system still show me these artists with 1 scrobble.
And I get more and more frustrated because I can't identify the wrong scrobble for each of them.

Of course, when I go to each of these artists, even with +noredirect in the URL, I get some number of scrobbles (which is hhiger than only 1 displayed in the library), but when trying to identify them further, I get redirected to the normal name of the artist.

What I said above that I managed to identify and remove was by the help of some exports made from my library from time to time, as CSV files; I looked for the bad scrobbles in that CSV files, got the day(s) of the scrobbles, and than searched my library with the date location system and ... found + removed that scrobble.

I still can't find the wrong ones for Roger Subirana and Medwyn Goodall and the remaining one for Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (already removed some OMD scrobbles a few houres ago; the Orchestrall.. remained as normal) ... at least those considered still in the history, and displayed as such in my library.

So, can anyone suggest me anything for what is going wrong here ?
I really would prefer the wrong scrobbles instead of any sort of merge (if any will be done sometime in the future); but for now I can't locate them.

Now the artists' names are fixed for me, but they're still separate from each other. I really hope this gets fixed soon.

For the record, my charts and overall library were entirely accurate when the auto-correct function wasn't working.
I have it turned off for a reason.

It seems like the auto-correct is working fine now(for Ke$ha at least) but i still have two "Ke$ha"s in my library and the overall scrobble amount isn't right.

While the auto correct does seem fixed, the scobble amount problem is still there. On the Ke$ha page(and a few others), the amount of scobbles shown is different than the actual amount. On the artist page it says 138 scrobbles but i really have 150. And the same thing is with Mötley Crüe and Blue Öyster Cult but only by 1 or 2 scrobbles. And also for the Ariana Grande song "You'll Never Know", on the song page it says 90 but i really have 91. It's not a HUGE deal but it's still a weird problem.

Go into your last.fm scrobble history and delete the ones that didn't get autocorrected from ke$ha or kesha

They are all scrobbled as Ke$ha now(since the auto correct was fixed), so there are no songs scrobbled as Kesha for me to delete. I guess i'll just wait until they fix it and if they don't then oh well.

Are you guys talking about songs being auto-corrected that you just played? I don't see any of the artists/albums that need to be corrected or merged doing so.

As far as I understand other posts here, and mine also, we have problems with old scrobbles that at their time were played by us with wrong names, they had been auto-corrected at scrobble time; and now, we have them in our libraries distinct at the artist name;

For instance, I had scrobbles with Guns 'N' Roses, Guns N'Roses (notice the first form has an extra ' before N; the second form has no space before Roses).
Such bad scrobbles were autocorrected to the correct name of the artist: Guns N' Roses.

But.... I stil see the old ones in my library as if Guns N' Roses has 2 entries in my library !! (one with proper scrobbles of around 1000, and one with only 2). Besides being ridiculous, this situation is annoying, since I try to have a nice and tidy library.

I can't even locate the exact wrong scrobble (even with the help of an local saved file with my history at last.fm, in the form of a CSV file, or the older form of TSV file).

For now I only have to wait in see what will become of the beta catalogue, when it will be rolled for good for all of us. Hopefully, this kind of situation will be addressed at that time.

Yeah that's what i mean. Songs that were originally scrobbled wrong(because the auto correct wasn't working) and are now fixed but the amounts haven't combined.

The real no. of my scrobbles for Marina & the Diamonds is 1198, but on my profile page it is either shown as 1188 or, if I reload the page, as 1108. Weird. But not as bad as it was a few days ago where the scrobbles oscillated randomly between 1198 and 990. :)

Yeah, it's only the amounts that need being combined again.  Just like all of you I also noticed fluctuations in the number of plays for Dernière Volonté on the profile page during the past 10 days:  893-869-860-864. Today it increased to 867 without playing a single DV track during that time span.  It's still not the correct +/- 980-990 (983?) it should show.

The number of artists shown on profile and library pages have a difference of 46 artists, which means 46 of my scrobbled artists are affected by this problem?

Wow, now the problem seems to be fixed for me. It now shows the right number on the artist page and in my library. Thanks for fixing it.

I don't think it's 100% fixed yet. Example: ムック has a little less than 4.000 scrobbles, and I record everytime a band hits a milestone. I got 4.000 in February. So, some scrobbles are still missing =(

it seemed to have been fixed as the total scrobble count shown on my library and on the album pages which differed actually appeared to be matching for a while, but now again the number of scrobbles on all time count displayed on my profile and on the album page differ at a significant range. sincerely cannot understand what could be causing this discrepancy and how to address it.
