There is a lot of (justifiable) negativity going around, and I've certainly taken part in it. To show that this is not an internet mob or rejecting change just because it's new, let's point out something good about the new design.

*Saying something good does not mean a full endorsement of the redesign or imply that it outweighs the bad.*

I like having album charts on my profile - I wish I could choose to display between 10 and 50 like how you used to be able to do with artists.

I like the graph in the library that breaks down scrobbles by year, month, and day if you keep clicking. Makes it a lot easier to look up what you listened to on any given day if you want to, plus it's a fun way of displaying statistics.

Something good? It's quite hard.

BUT

I like the Albums Charts plus....

BUT

The ugly side? Since I have some kind of obsession with having all my music organized at any point possible (in my player I use the composer column for COUNTRIES), I like to have all my albums organized in chronological order. This make all albums start with "(Albumyear)", then the album name. Thus... I have no covers, I just see five giant grey squares.

"I like having album charts on my profile - I wish I could choose to display between 10 and 50 like how you used to be able to do with artists." The album chart is also my favorite thing. If you think it's a good idea as well, please Like my idea! https://getsatisfaction.com/lastfm/topics/2x4-top-artists-top-albums

I like that they finally put the albums chart somewhere visible.  That's unfortunately the only improvement.

I was looking at the library view today and I like the bar graph thing for plays. It's interesting to look at the all time view and see how many tracks you listened to in a particular year and howe your scrobbling habits change over time.

When I first signed on, I didn't scrobble that much. Over the next several years, I held pretty steady. After that, my daily scrobbled jump significantly and I knew this (there are reasons for it), but it's interesting to see it laid out like this.

Even though I miss being able to hover over my play count and get an average tracks per day like the old site, this detail explains a lot more as to how your yearly average was.

The Scrobbler app still shows your average daily Scrobble count under the "Profile" tab!

I'm using the old scrobbler, so I don't think it shows that. :(

I like the main page, when you're logged out, it shows a lot of cool widgets. But unfortunately I don't spend a lot of time logged out. None at all, to be honest.

And I like the library graph - this was done with love, unlike anything else.

And maybe the shoutbox isn't that bad. Neater. Unlike anything else...

That's about it.

This is going to be a bit like finding positives after a car crash...

Well... It's still very white, and I do enjoy and excuse for a headache as much as the next guy. The last.fm logo in the top left still says BETA, which gives me a glimmer of hope that this situation is still a little bit fluid. Charts are definitely nice.

That the new site feels like some nightmarish amalgamation of several different social networking sites gives me a little twilight zone feeling, which could be very entertaining when using this site under the influence...

No preview of post means I have to actually proof-read my posts before I hit any buttons, so yay for being less lazy. I love that my musical tastes are now forced to be whittled all the way down to 5 artists and albums. No wait I hate that last one sorry. Analyzing/camparing musical tastes was my #1 reason for regularly using the site. Now it is incredibly difficult to do so (in fact too hard I would not even dare try).

I also changed my mind and wish I could previwe psots again too... Positive list is getting smaller as I type.. :-(.

I tested out the spiking artists feature on the dashboard, and it's pretty impressive. We can finally get more than 10 similar artists.

By clicking around a few times, you can discover obscure artists.

I'm afraid if we say positive things about the website they will ruin these few good things lmao
