My name is Laura Wolf (user: laurawolfmusic) and I've been linked with a British artist of the same name: https://www.last.fm/music/Laura+Wolf -- It has totally messed up my Spotify "listener's also listen to" section...  I just released a new song "Good Veins" (and past releases from an EP called "stitch one" and its songs "Good" "circles"  have also been inappropriately linked to this artist). I don't currently have an artist page on on Last.fm and Last.fm won't let me edit this person's wiki even though I'm logged in. It also won't let me create a new page for myself. What gives? Anyone able to help?

Laura,

You will find answers to your questions on the FAQs pages of this site:

https://getsatisfaction.com/lastfm/categories/lastfm_faqs?topic-list[settings][type]=article

Basically, artists/bands with the same name will share the Last FM page for that name. You can edit the wiki once you have scrobbled enough tracks to get editing privileges.

The only way to get your own artist page is to opt for a completely unique name - something of challenge.

is there anyone who does have editing privileges who can help me? Is there a way to take my music off of that page?

There are much bigger bands that have to be satisfied with sharing a name with another artist, thus affecting the charts, similar artists, band pics that show up on listeners' profiles, etc. All you can really do to differentiate yourself is mention the existence of separate artists sharing the name in the bio. (Maybe there'll be a volunteer here, or one of your fans will do it eventually.)

I don't think there's a way to prevent your tracks from showing up there either. Even artists that have their pages blocked still have their tracks srobbled. If someone uses your name on a song, it'll be counted.

The best you can hope for is that enough of your fans scrobble your name as something like Laura Wolf (US). It was done successfully with a couple of lesser known bands, though I don't know how it'll effect Spotify.

Laura,

My user name is jones8780. If you would like to send me a private message via  the Last FM website containing the information you would like to appear in the bio plus some tags and I can edit the entry for you.

I don't believe that your  music can be removed from the page as LFM just works with the info provided in the scrobbles.
