Agreed. Big shame.

Especially since Creedence Clearwater Revival could easily fit into that space.

Yeah, this looks awful. The font size should be reduced at least where necessary to accommodate long names for artist, album and song pages. Long song/artist names also look terrible cut off on a user's now playing list, especially with no hover to view titles in full.

The new and improved artist page... unreadable title, with the top of someone's head displayed in the background. Bravo, designers.

(Nit picky :)  - lets' just get scrobbling for 1 week (7 straight days) cause the title don't mean nothing if its got no place to go; non-ear wise -- I can now (Heroin helps) live with almost everything, it has improved a bit, but that profile page I want to burn it down - it does cut off words when there is plenty of space, fix the page is my opinion, that being part of it, I mean home page is better - this was not planned well (The American investors) So maybe like a page at a time - the thing is this third party site (community) and a lack of collectiveness, just 'Brain Heat' - we need to form a group in here - good idea? (we are smart, it can be done) We really do / are -- we all want this the old way, that will not happen - so make it better, more flexible, believe me "they" (Them) want us at odds, even with one another

It appears to me, from a coding point of view, that they made the character limit to fit a certain size screen rather than have it resize/configure itself to each device.

You can however see the whole name if you shrink the window size small enough with the text being below the header ala this screen grab.

Perhaps the websites code could be modified to acknowledge larger screens and enable more characters to be displayed within the header. It already does this if you shrink the screen a little bit as below.

Full size above

Smaller sized window above

Since it is clear that the site has some sort of cropping feature dependent on the window size I see no reason a third or fourth character limit can be created for longer strings of characters and larger window sizes. Not sure about mobile devices but PCs can sure use this.

Yes yes I also noticed this too... I think its one of those things that will be taken care of once they tackle the 3 remaining things to do (https://getsatisfaction.com/lastfm/topics/new-site-launch-temporary-service-disruption-information) Seems like it would be an easy fix, but I might be looking more at the cosmetic side of this.

If you go into the code and change the header's font-size attribute from 40 to 30, it allows for many artist titles to be displayed in full (such as Creedence), while still looking nice.  It's a minor tweak Last.fm should make on their end.

Why still no one from the support acknowledged this issue?
I thought that I might get used to this new design but turns out the longer I'm using it the more terrible experience it becomes. Because you just can't get used to the bad ux.
