when will the migration be completed?
it's been a week now and my artist/song/library count is significantly incorrect. also, all scrobbles are cached in my desktop app since 8/20. Will they be lost or somehow be accepted for submission?
I'm not even going into restoring features now, i'm focusing on the core functionality of last.fm. I keep reading that things were supposed to be migrated early last week, but 7 days later and my library has not been updated and the progress post hasn't been updated in days either.

I second that, my library is a mess and right now I can't even delete unwanted scrobbles/artists.

I have an extra 25 thousand scrobbles and they've messed up my library, I just want rid of them already.

25.000 extra scrobbles? Holy shit, that's seriously f***ed up. I thought my library is in bad shape because of the 4.000 duplicates that are ruining my charts, but 25.000..... unbelievable.

Please provide an update so we know we can scrobble again! I have been on this site for 10 years and do not appreciate the silence.

I am anxiously waiting for core functionality to be restored as well to see all that is still missing.  Although I am as unhappy as many are that the new website was forced on all before it was anywhere near ready, I will keep my peace until the Last.FM team tells us that all is back to normal (to them at least).

All my scrobbles before June of 2015 are missing.  That's >9 years worth of data (approx 800k scrobbles and >90k artists...)

PS: figlt on Last.FM

last.fm really needs to hire more staff. I'm starting to believe there is only like one guy who actually works for this site.

i've read posts where last.fm employees have been saying that it was expected to be completed within 24 hours several times over the last 7 days. they said this same thing 5 days ago on their twitter. i'm mostly just concerned about getting the data migrated and for cached scrobbles to post and continue to post w/o issues.

Regarding cached scrobbles, if you open C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\Last.fm and open the "username_subs_cache" with notepad, you can view all of your cached scrobbles. For some reason there's a problem with the size of the submissions.

You should copy this file to somewhere safe, close last.fm and then open the file, count out 10 tracks (note the track starts with " and ends with , and has lots of metadata in between), can be quite tedious but it will submit all of your tracks eventually.

I had about 300 tracks to submit, but it only took about 20-30 minutes, not my scrobbling is working perfectly. I hope this helps

Well, for what it's worth: I just received replies on twitter and they still don't have a migration ETA (sigh). my library is even more incorrect then it was 2 days ago. And they have acknowledged the cached scrobbles issue and say they are working on a fix and when it's implemented the cached scrobbles should automatically submit (sigh again - we will see)

Still cannot scrobble from third party despite the migration post claiming it is working.

i can scrobble from cloudscrob (iOs app) and my pandora is scrobbling via a 3rd party app, but the actual last.fm desktop app has everything cached since 8/20 - a few hundred. if the data import is still underway 8 days later and they don't have an ETA on when it will be complete...and they are having so many scrobbling issues i have a feeling it's going to be a while before things clear up.

How can you find out whether you've got duplicate scrobbles? After hearing of so many horror stories I'm concerned I might have a load without realising. And yes, definitely need for the deletion option to come back FAST. Pretty bad that there's been no update since the 21st.

well, you could scroll through your library track history and see if songs scrobble multiple times in a row. or if you had an idea of what your library was like last week and see a dramatic different in play counts. I have about 8K extra plays since 8/17. they were apparently storing data on multiple servers which isn't uncommon but somehow they haven't merged correctly (the ongoing migration issue) since the new site went live. i just can't understand how they haven't been able to migrate the data yet after 8 days. I think there's obviously a lot more technical problems that are going on under the hood which we are in the dark about.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand still nothing. I really want the duplicates to be gone for good. And the albums to have up-to-date covers. How can the migration be taking that long?

Genuinely concerned they've either all quit, been fired or gone on holiday. Nothing going on right now and it's quite strange.

I think the silence is what's frustrating people the most. If they don't have time to read and reply to more user commments, then they could at least start a thread that they update on a regular (at least daily) basis.

My scrobbles did just appear to fix themselves, but now they've reverted back. I was happy for a moment there :(

My duplicates all finally seem to be gone as well! Hopefully, they remain that way permanently. It's been a long and frustrating wait.

I'll be damned, it's fixed - hallelujah! :)
I gotta give it to Last.fm, they made good on their promise that they'd fix our screwed up libraries. I just did a quick check, but it seem like my charts are perfectly in order, everything looks like it's supposed to.
Thanks Last.fm, that's a good start.

Edit: glad to hear that, Shannon!

Psychological strategy.

1. Ruin everything
2. Eat the shitstorm & wait a week
3. Make some effort on an essential website feature
4. Watch people become thankful

Not with me.

Oh come on. This is not a conspiracy. It was about time the site got a redesign and I don't even want to know in what kind of shape the code was in. Yeah, it sucks that the old site had to be turned off before the new site was feature complete - but my understanding is that it just wasn't feasible to run both sites simultaneously any longer. This is a huge undertaking for a presumably small team, you might as well cut them some slack.
Here's an idea: let's wait until the new site is finished before we declare Last.fm completely broken, shall we?

So, like I mentioned, my duplicates are gone, which is awesome. But I have noticed another type of discrepancy. The play count for this track seems to be split in two: http://i.imgur.com/vpMmnyT.jpg?1

It's listed twice at the bottom, once with 3 plays and once with 1 play, yet they both link to the same library entry, which lists 3 plays. I'm pretty sure 4 is the correct count overall.

I haven't investigated deeply enough to know how many tracks this affects, and I'm not majorly bothered by it as I was by the duplicates, but is anyone else running into this?

That sort of thing happened lots before the site regeneration. For example, The Human League's near peerless 'Don't You Want Me' has always split in my library despite looking exactly the same on the page. All plays would sometimes merge but never for long. Never been able to explain it. Never been a problem either. Just a glitch.

I still have 4,406 duplicates. I know because I'm using a site that checks: http://meaw.kagechiyo.net/web/RemoveDuplicatedTrack.eng.html

It's too bad that last.fm's API is no longer working, because this website can no longer remove the duplicates, it can only check for them.
