New Last.fm account but no prompt, no way to import listening history from iTunes (mac OS) even with scrobbler.

I just created a last.fm account because I'm looking for new music based on my listening history. I have a HUGE iTunes account that I've had forever, and while I can see my play history on iTunes, I cannot see it on last.fm. I downloaded the mac scrabbler but even that just shows my listening moving forward. How can I get my history into Last.fm?

You can export you last fm data, unfortunately you can't import an other history. But it's a good suggestion for the development team. For solace: The user on last fm are much smarter and more communicative than on iTunes. Check out your musical neighbours and have fun.

The old method of importing the library of your local media player (iTunes, WMP, Winamp, foobar) has not been rebuilt yet. I don't know if or when this might happen.

An alternative would be the bulk scrobbling option of Universal Scrobbler which can also directly import from other music databases like MusicBrainz or Discogs. You would have to pay $5 once for using this and other options though.

"If"? Really? There's literally no point in this site existing if users can't do this. It's like you're purposely withholding every important feature and intentionally making this site unusable at this point.

Such a waste of time and money. Why would we pay for something we could do for free in the old version ? u_n

I would be grateful to know if Last.fm has stopped scrobbling from itunes permanently as this is one of the main reasons I use it and have done so as a subscriber for the last 8 years. I am not sure I understand why it will not work but would be grateful if any user or developer could help me.

Last.fm has not stopped scrobbling from iTunes (which is not the topic here), and meanwhile you can import your iTunes database with the new external app Last.fm Scrubbler which got updated to v1.8 today.

Sadly I do not understand the response other than to take from it that you can no longer scrobble from iTunes. If I understand correctly you now have to download a scrubbler. I would be grateful for anyone to explain how I get the play count of my Itunes plays to be included in my Last.fm profile like it has been for the past 8 years. That is really the basis of my question.
