You've gone live with a product which was not quite ready? How long before we can customize our page like we were able to before? I miss my sidebar with gifs, images, milestones, and band logos. Also, definitely not pleased by the disappearance of the current track playing. Equally miffed by the fact that we cannot adjust how many Artists or Top Tracks are listed on our profile page. I want to see mroe than just the top five artists and more than just the top ten songs. Also, all the old problems from the last forum went up in smoke when this new forum and site were launched. I hope the old problems don't carry over to the new site, because I was already seeing discrtempencies with my track count total before the switch.

I don't know what the hell they're doing with "the migration". But my 190.000 lost scrobblings were not restored yet. I'm fuming

The main feature of old last.fm was its ability to create awareness about your music taste to any person visiting your page. Immediately. For that we had easy and comfortable access to our charts and of course right sidebar with tag clouds, artist clouds, album covers, milestones and so forth. So when any person asked me what music I preferred I easily could give him a link to my profile and his/her question worked itself out. And what do we have now? Only 10 recently played tracks and 5 top artists. The main purpose of last.fm is gone for good. *Sigh*.

The new site is online since 8 days and I can't even upload new photos for artists or covers, no groups, no compatibility bar... last.fm was a long time my favourite site of the whole web but I assume these days are over. This can't work because you don't care about the opinion of the users. A website is nothing without the users.

Absolutely nothing seems to be happening with this "migration"... And now it seems that I haven't been listening to any albums the last 7 days. Kind of frustrating, that Last.fm doesn't keep us posted. And why did the small album covers disappear next to the tracks?

Glad to say I can scrobble my iPod plays again (rather than them just being cached), although I am getting multiple scrobbles...so now I need to be able to delete scrobbles again.

Dear Last.fm,
you suck so much right now. I'm not irritated. I don't care anymore.
I just wanted you to know that.
Best regards,
Kurt

I'm now experiencing the site auto-correcting my artist names even though I haven't had that option enabled, since I've always found the last.fm algorithm to update the name ineffective and, more often than not, wrong. In addition, over 1k artists now missing from my library. I've been a member for almost 10 years, and have almost 400k scrobbles - it's  crazy to me that the new site is messing up years worth of accumulated data like this with no regard to the users.

I agree the new site mostly sucks and was launched with way too many established features completely gone. What I dislike most is that throughout beta testing there was no mention of which features would be lost only which new 'features' would be included. I tried the site when it was beta testing but didn't get round to leaving feedback. Foolishly I assumed that by the time the site went live all the elements I loved about the old site would be reinstated in some way.
In my opinion the new features add nothing to the experience.

"The new Last.fm playbar gives you a seamless desktop-based listening experience"
So seamless means you have to wait for Spotify to open and/or listen to low quality audio from YouTube which probably wasn't even uploaded by the copyright holder.
There also seems to be no vetting that tracks sourced from YouTube are actually correct. I just clicked to play the track Fragile by Wire (suggested by the fancy Venn diagram) and it plays a Lee Renaldo cover of the track via YouTube!

Oh, and which part of the Playbar is on my desktop??

The 'Live' page just consists of a random bunch of facts/stats and a Venn diagram that tells me the Monkees & The Spencer Davis group were 60's electronic bands!

Another new feature, the advertised Library Explorer, doesn't seem to be fully functional yet. Why introduce something new if it's not ready?

I use (and pay for) Last.fm to expand and enhance my listening habits but I get the feeling those running the site have lost the vision that made the old Last.fm such a great site.
The customisable right side-bar appears to be lost forever, leaving my profile devoid of any personality. I loved the old radio stations and the ability to customise using tags.
Friends have now become Followers :-(
All these things have been chipped away over a period of time. Even the desktop Scobbler no longer works properly with iTunes and hasn't done for many months now. I have 'lost' hundreds, if not thousands, of Scrobbles that I can no longer get from my iPod.
Overall I'm massively disappointed with the new site and unless things change a helluva lot over the coming months my annual subscription won't be renewed.

There is an old adage that the powers of LFM should have listened to; "you run the one that brung ya"
If you get away from that which made you successful, chances are your success will suffer....
My annual subscription is coming due next month, I'm leaving, after close to 60,000 plays on LFM. THANKS A BUNCH, LFM/CBS!!

By the way the list of tags is cruelly curtailed too and looks ugly with this "..." Everything really seems extremely big and clumsy

At first, I thought people were overreacting about the changes, typical people against change and all that. I was all hooray changed look good, I'll give it a chance, might be promising. I was wrong, clearly.

I won't list all the disappointing things done, I think that's been done enough several times over so I won't waste my time there. I'm just here to add my voice to say please reconsider the changes made, for your own damn sakes, if not just the users. Moving things around a little on the page, and a lick of paint is not a large enough of a trade-off to have removed part of the heart of the site. Not by half.

I'm starting to hate CBS. Last year the Gamespot site was ruined in the same manner, another site which they also have layed their filthy hands on. Just as with lastfm, they fucked the users in the rear end by completely erase every user data collected over the years, like ratings and such, just to replace it with a new system they saw fit their needs. I have left that site, a site I actually loved and felt inspired to contribute to. I fear the same will happen here and I think others feel the same way. Is it really a smart move to scare away the core users? I really hope it will bite them in their own behind eventually, if they stick to their stupid reasons.

Maybe I'm being wrong and harsh judging CBS for all the things gone bad with their sites, but who else would be to blame? It's like everything they're involved with turns into a corp. controlled souless system rather than a user friendly place to be.

Can someone enlighten me, all of my totals are inaccurate, we can no longer do a library re-sync from Settings so what I am supposed to do? Just continue using the site with inaccurate data?

Another thing I hate is that you used to be able to view large grabs of info on one single page, like 500 top most played artists, all of the songs you had played from an artist on one page etc now you have to wade through loads of pages.....

Exactly..! It's really annoying that I have to just click everything and wait until it loads to view info. To me, that's the biggest problem from the new site.

Change it back! Immediately! There's nothing good about the new website. It's a catastrophe.
