The posts and friend relationships was what I most enjoyed with last.fm. All of that is gone. My friends are gone, my music list is gone, the shared thoughts with others is gone, i'm gone. Clearly, the launch of this new website was entirely and irresponsibly premature. I understand that this was a free service, but last.fm needs to understand that I am also free to take my computer somewhere else. I do feel bad for those who had invested in what was a fun place to be throughout the day. If I were an advertiser, I would take my business elsewhere.

No Bueno!

You have turned this last haven of simplicity and good ol' honest fun into yet another corporate-inspired junk yard of weight-loss advertisements. Shame on you, Sirs and Madams.

From some info I've seen on the forums here, this will eventually be implemented.

The mind boggles, as does my eyesight with the new design. Why would anyone think it's an improvement? Please go back to the old site sometime soon

Site is screwed for me too.  I'm not up in arms about the layout, I get after many years that they'd want to upgrade the looks of the site.  All I care about is a site that actually works!  Absolutely nothing is scrobbling for me now.  It started with the Ipod scrobbles yesterday, and then today the Itunes scrobbling stopped working. (Itunes scrobbling was working yesterday)  It'll show the track that is "currently playing", but when it's done it doesn't scrobble.  I just disappears from the site entirely.

I'm ok with the new last.fm since all I care about is my library & live events, just give me back my scrobbles and I'll be fine. Thank you.

You can't even see which events you're going to, so how can you be okay with the new site?

Live events are completely screwed and you haven't been able to create new events for about a month or so. I have my concert history from the early 1990's on last.fm, hundreds of concerts and they pretty much trashed the whole system.

Why is everything so big and bulky? Who asked for that? Why did they change the site when all anyone really asked for was to have the ability to change their usernames and fix song titles/albums/artist names? Why are songs I listened to once scrobbling 40+ times? Why are songs I'm actually listening to not scrobbling at all? What the hell are they doing?

Change of username would be a big plus... maybe at least once in 5 years? But I think that this is quite hard to implement afterwards.

Nevertheless, the new site would only make sense on either a) Tablet users or b) visually handicapped customers.
This is way too big on my 22" screen, I don't even like to think about how this looks on small screens.

This is a very badly designed website.  The old one was absolutely fine and simple to understand / use.   Where have all my radio stations gone as well?

Why would one remove 70% of the content one had or were linked up to, work that had been done on pages, interaction and history with people, useful links, a workable design, etc. without even getting a notice that this would completely disappear. The groups page were indeed a bit outdated but several of them included info on them of value. I'm guessing wikipedia wouldn't delete all their user-created pages.

Someone must have forgotten that they had actual visitors to their site. Now one is left with a site without people but I guess a somewhat usable mobile-friendly site that appeals to no one. The only usable way to go would've been to stick with the original design as the pc version and the beta-version as a mobile site only.

Lost of dedicated time to this site and now i understand that it was a total waste of time and effort into something else i could have been doing which now lead me to this point in time where i lost everything in about me and now i can no longer have my band logo data all because last.fm wants to change. I get the old site had it's problems but this was a terrible launch and poorly planned out. For this, i am now going to leave until this site is restored to it's former glory or some other site is out there. It was a social site to show what i listened to and kept data on what i like but it's all a waste now.

Are you guys crazy with that piece of shit? Wheres my current profile photo? Where are my right side of the page. And what is beta last fm.  You are launching new last fm and i'ts even not the full version of this crap so finish it first and then launch it. You are destroying one of the best services in the internet.

It wasn't even announced! That's just how wrong this all is and my guess is that CBS wants last.fm to be put into the ground. They launch it and can't even access my inbox or see the latest shouts.

I don't even know what they are doing with the about me, 200 characters and deleting what i originally had on there!? This new site is terrible.

I really like the look of new site but I'm already missing my event attendance - when will it be back?
It seems like a lot of functionality has disappeared, as a Software Engineer and Project Manager I guess I don't really understand how you released the system with the existing functionality removed?

I have my concert events since the early 1990's here on last.fm-- hundreds of events. I've hand entered thousands of events for the bands that I like and all the concerts I've been considering going to.

That was the main feature I used last.fm for and it looks like they trashed the whole system.

This is so sad!!!!!!  As an artist, it's all just been taken over. They're still working on it.....apparently but my album art is gone and pictures for P.o.M are gone.  The "about me" section where you can lay out all your fun bbc code and links is gone. I'm very mad. I want the OLD OLD last.fm back.

I go with a lot of the other criticism, and will add one more. If you found a new artist, and wanted to play a song, there were always Youtube versions. Not anymore, Gone!....Bring back the old Last.FM please.

I have been a regular user for eight years now.
Next to the scrobbling feature I have predominantly been using the discussion forums on a daily basis to share thoughts and discussions with friends.
Well, our group forum is gone, and nobody can tell me if it will be back at all..
Seriously: Will the forums be back online (without any loss of content)? If yes, when?

Is it possible to hide "Top Albums" section on my profile? I want it to be as it was in the old site: Recent tracks, top artists and top tracks. Thanks.

I concur with all the above scathing negative feedback.. sadly. I loved last.fm.. over 100,000+ listens. Now I might have to go elsewhere. I don't usually have negative things to say about.. anything.. but this isn't good.

Why??... make last.fm simple and unbroken again. I will gladly pay a monthly subscription happily if its a money thing.

I back this. Your site will lose significant traffic if this keeps up. I used to check my last.fm everyday, looking at my charts, shouts, etc. You replace the about me sidebar with ads. Disgusting. CBS buy you out and they think they have another facebook on their hands which is ironic because facebook is the last thing that last.fm users want. Choosing to not listen to feedback is at your own peril especially when 6 months from now your corporate benefactors choose to shut this site down for not being "viable in today's digital market".

I've had an account here for over a decade; just one account, scrobbling since 27 Dec 2004. It is the ONLY social media account I've maintained. I've been through rebranding from Audioscrobbler and half a dozen site redesigns and every time I rolled with it. Some changes did take some getting used to, but I trusted you guys enough and took the time to adjust, and I supported the progress, and things worked out for the best.

This is not one of those times. I now have absolutely no idea what the fuck I'm looking at on any given page. Existing features and functionality have disappeared. The site is less visually appealing. There is not one single aspect of these changes that I can point to as being an improvement over the previous design, and I am perplexed as to why anyone thought they were necessary.

I am completely lost on this new iteration of last.fm. Please revert and go back to the drawing board. You have made a very serious mistake. And what the fuck is with this requirement to sign in with facebook or google to leave a comment? Seriously, fuck you guys. You were supposed to be the good guys.

(I admit I haven't been a paid subscriber in a very long time, but if you undo this new fuckup, I promise I will give you some money. Take a lesson from New Coke and profit from the outcry. Just please don't do it again.)

This is what I just posted to the formal feedback form:

"I'm so sick of web sites and apps that feel they have to change and end up making it worse. Learn a lesson from what Foursquare recently did. They changed everything. Users screamed and they are even now still restoring the old features to get their rapidly departing user base back. Let's be honest. The new site is a mess. Overrun with adds. Way too much white space. Far too little information. It's just ugly and really hard to find things. You blew this one guys. The new site is rubbish. I will use third party phone apps from now on as your site is not worth the trouble to try and figure out. Shame."

Ok, Last.fm states that event attendance is solved now. I can attend a random event but I cannot see it on my profile. Where is the list of events? In the previous version of Last there was a clear one on the right side of the page...

It's weird so many people having issues with scrobbling when that broke for me 2 weeks ago partially but has worked perfectly since the new site launched lol.

I'm honestly surprised to see so many people talk about how they used the streaming service. I never knew anyone did. It's library was always so limited. I can't stand streaming music anyway though, bitrate too low (yes, I can tell the difference)

The new website is a complete disaster usability wise and doesn't match the needs and wants of its core users AT ALL. Just don't fix, what isn't broken. Rule number one! (UI designer speaking here)

If they wanted a fresh new look, they should have hired a better designer and should have kept all the existing features. Maybe work on some more new social features, but that's it. The design patterns, typography and contrast are totally wrong. And I honestly miss the clear, simple charts. It's a chaotic picture-fest right now. And if I click on library the first thing I see is a BIG ASS general chart about how much I've listened the past time. It doesn't tell me anything. It has no purpose. That's not why I open my library and I couldn't care less. Plus the navigation is terrible. I'm not happy about it at all.
