Before the new site went online, there was a feature to display the currently playing track. It was available at the following URL:

last.fm/user/[username]/now

Please bring this back. As you can see from the picture below, this was very cool.

I never knew about this before, but when I used to use the web site years ago it was mostly for the streamed radio and I stopped that when it was replaced by YouTube. Being able to have a page open for the currently playing track, while I'm listening on my phone, wouldn't be perfect but would be a great improvement over the site the way it is now. I hope this gets brought back soon.

Excellent, thanks!

...by the way, I had a little chat with time - she gave her permission ;)

It'd be cool to see this return still, I did sometimes use it.

That's interesting, thanks for the link. I'd still like to see an official version return, though, looking closer to the original version (keeping the now playing information central and not off to the bottom corner). It also seems to sometimes go to "Nothing in the air" when the track changes, rather than transitioning smoothly. So a nice workaround, but not the real thing!

for me it transitions smoothly, it probably depends on something that's out of the individual user's control. but yeah, i agree, it's not the real thing.

Something like the original - centred, basic details, nicely formatted - but with larger album art to reflect today's higher screen resolutions would be great. The Wagnaria version feels a bit too Windows Media Player for my liking, but that might just be the font! I do like how it uses artist images in the background, but it blurs them in such a way that it looks pretty shoddy. I think there's better ways to incorporate artist photos into the design.

I'd forgotten about this (and apparently missed this post the first time around)! Cool jukebox-esque feature.
