Random account with identical scrobbles to me?

So a couple days ago I noticed this account in my neighbours section that had identical recent scrobbles to me. I also found that it simultaneously scrobbles the same songs that I do, when I do as if it were my account. I tried messaging them to find out what was happening but there was no reply. I want to know how this is happening and how I can stop it.

That does not sound random but rather deliberate. There is an option in the Universal Scrobbler  to scrobble from another user so if you know the user name of the person whose scrobbles you wish to copy, it will do so with the same date & time stamps.

I do not know if there is a way to stop this without making your scrobbles private.

There is an option in third-party applications to track someone’s listening habits to update your charts. The only option for you is to make your listening activities private. It’s not a new thing or a trend; it has been like this since when the API page was launched on this platform to create applications. And how much I know doing something like this is not against the community guidelines, it's not against the codes of conduct. If I were in your place, I’d stop panicking. I’ve seen people doing this to other listeners, and no one was pitching a fit because of that. I’d suggest you do the same thing too. It’s uncomfortable, I know, but it’s not against the rules. I’m sorry.
