I've lost so many of my recent scrobbles. Besides the fact that everything else is utilised awfully, the missing scrobbles in the worst thing. Will these come back or are they gone forever?

Where did you hear this, if you don't mind me asking? I sincerely hope you're right though.

So we can recover what hasn't been scrobbled?
I'm too scared to shut down my laptop for fear of losing all the data. #tragic

Jack, last.fm scrobbler saves all cached data. It can add scrobbles on the library later so there's no fear of losing anything. :)

The mods and staff replied to my numerous rants here on this site. You might stumble upon one or two of their replies if you search hard enough.

I have to admit all this cache stuff confuses me, I just want my iPod play counts to be scrobbled by the desktop client but it has not been performing for the last couple of days (likely due to the migration). Is there a thread where I can find out how to recover what has been lost?

@Petra, so say for example, on my Last.fm Scrobbler program, if I click on "Scrobbles", it brings up a list right? So for arguments sake let's say that that list can fit 30 tracks, if the last 30 tracks I've listened to are all cached, and I listen to one more, would the oldest one dissapear? Or would is be somewhere else, but just not in the list?

^I once listened to 100 tracks a day and they all cached (I had internet connection problems at the time) and they all scrobbled into the library with no problem. Of course, that was in 2012 or something. Things may have changed since then, but I surely haven't lost any cached scrobbles. Ever. :)

Of course, if you really want to be sure that songs will scrobble into last.fm library, you can listen your tracks on Spotify. It has scrobbler built inside it, only thing you have to do is to go to "References" and type down your last.fm account information and start listening. Songs should appear on last.fm's "Recently Added" list. :)

in another post it is mentioned that all scrobbles are available at a different server and will be synched soon. so no scrobbles are forever lost, they are simply not seen at this moment.

This was my page on August 17th

My last.fm was hacked on December. The last.fm staff recovered it, scrobblings and all. That's why the massive amount of scrobblings in such a little time.

But I don't care. The scrobblings were there.

And this is my last.fm now:

I never got a subscription because of stuff like this and their complete lack of giving a damn.

Same here. I've lost more than A MILLION scrobbles... Don't know what to do. This used to happen several months ago and they fixed it. Hope they can do that again.
