So, as of today morning scrobbling doesn't work (again) but this time the songs don't even sit in the cache. Guess they're disappearing into the ether because according to the status page everything works flawlessly!

Way to go, Crap.fm.

Maybe they had deadline and hoped that they'll fix all issues soon. Expected was decorated.

I just tried iTunes, the tracks show up as successfully scrobbled in the desktop client, but don't appear in my profile.

If I listen to a full album, it scrobbles only one to five tracks. I never had this problem before. I tried all the scrobblers but the same problem occurs. Hope they would fix this as soon as possible. This new site is really making me sick..

It seems to be scrobbling (yay for that) but has anyone gotten their previously unscrobbled scrobbles back? I haven't.

Me too. At least 30 plays from this morning haven't scrobbled yet, but now it works.

No, the unscrobbled ones are still somewhere in outer space

If you use MusicBee, you can access your previosuly played tracks (Help -> Support -> View Last.fm Scrobble Log) and scrobble manually or through universal scrobbler!

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately I don't use MusicBee.

Funny thing, though: the missing tracks are still listed in the app after I've restarted the PC. Does it mean the app has synced them with "the stuck in the outer space" or they're just stuck in the cache on my computer?
I always believed that the desktop scrobbler synced with the server upon restart because it showed nothing there whenever my internet connection was off. Does anybody know if this is true?

Hi everyone,

We believe the problem with scrobbling has been resolved and your scrobbles should be going through now.  Our engineers will be monitoring our systems over the weekend to ensure that there are no further incidents.

Unfortunately, in this particular case, scrobbles that weren't cached during this time will need to be resubmitted via the universal scrobbler, or a similar service.  We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

That's disappointing that scrobbles literally disappeared into a void without being cached nor submitted, I should have saved the scrobbles from the official scrobbler for when the prob was resolved. I'll work something out though. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again :)

when the submissions server tells the client that the submission was ok (even when it's not), of course it isn't going to cache anything and therein lies the problem. we can't even trust the server response any more....

Guys, this issue is NOT resolved. Scrobbling has not worked for me since 1 Jul. I have this app on two different iPads, plus my desktop. I don't see any updates since 1 Jul. I am just about ready to delete this app and my profile.

It's unbelievable that the staff recommends that we use some third-party software to solve this problem. How can scrobbles disappear that way that they aren't salvageable? Why doesn't the "official" Last.fm scrobbler have these kind of features to resubmit the scrobbles? How hard can it be to build some kind of safety mechanism for the scrobbles, for example to have an additional backup file on user's computer of all the scrobbles which are submitted to your server? So the scrobbles would be re-submittable if when something crashes on your end again? How is it possible that a third-party software can resubmit the scrobbles but official scrobbler or the last.fm staff cannot?!

The scrobbling and using the of site used to be fun but now it's just getting too tedious and taxing. Every day it feels more like not worth it anymore.

Nope!  I have had one song scrobble from RDIO since Friday morning.  None so far this morning.

I managed to restore my lost scrobbles (nine tracks) from the recent tracks file. I have a saved version from a cache file. I deleted all tracks from the old saved version of the cache file, and copied into it the tracks from the recent tracks file, while the scrobbler was down. I restarted the scrobbler, and it resubmitted all the scrobbles.

Actually I should only have copied the tracks that were missing (the recent tracks file contains many more tracks from the recent days), but I forgot about it, and copied all the tracks into the cache file. However, apparently there are no duplicates, so it even noticed that some of those tracks had already been scrobbled.

If you don't have a saved version of it, maybe I could share what the cache file contains before and after the tracks, and then everybody could create their own cache file.

The same problem again guys, after couple o hours of scrobbling it does not scrobble again, pathetic. I might chat rubbish right now, but what if all of us just delete our profiles, cancel subscriptions and stuff. Just basically stop using it until last.fm team will realise the size of a mistake they made. Not being an arsehole but it aint no funny anymore.
