I am experiencing a problem with connecting to Last FM. I can scrobble the tracks and they are now in the Cached tracks of the scrobbler but don't get to My library. When I click on RECONNECT, nothing happens. What is the problem? I've had it for 2 days now.

After the site went internet 2.0 submissions were broken then they came back for a day now they are broken again and I have  4 days of cached scrobbles. Official client doesn't not connect to my account, I tried to get a newer version of the client but update does not work, the prescribed fix does nothing for me or anybody else. I tried to login to universal scrobbler but I get the broken robot page. It will work one day, but it is annoying that the error is not indicated on status page and staff seem to be giving us the ostrich treatment. Website seems more broken now than when it was launched. If I commit suicide I will post it on youtube. I am sad.

I tried step 2, iTunes is now scrobbling the tracks directly as I listen to them so that's kind of fixed for me (didn't work for me at all the last couple of days) but tracks scrobbled from my iPod are still stuck in cache...

Tried the suggested solution of disconnecting my account (after trying the cache troubleshooting, reinstalling and updating), and it still doesn't work. Going on four days of caches scrobbles.

So I removed a user from the client, then tried to add it again, but the client returned an error message, saying: couldn't connect to the internet to verify your user details.
Bravo.

I've also had this problem for the past four days. Cached scrobbles, nothing recent showing up on my profile. I really hope I don't lose all of those scrobbles.

Like many of you, no luck with iTunes or iPod after syncing to iTunes getting scrobbled. All cached. I've tried the disconnect method and deleting/reloading the software. Was working around with CloudScrob but that's not working today either, after being fine on Friday. User name: The_Lurker

Same here. ITunes scrobbling doesn't work. My old scrobbler (1.5.4) doesn't work anymore. New scrobbler just caches tracks, but doesn't flushes it to site database (so, doesn't work). Goddamn you guys with your beta version.

Hey, I'm not sure if you still have a copy of your old desktop version, but if you do and your tracks are getting stuck in the cache, try going to Tools >Options >Connection and the under Proxy setting simply click from automatic to manual, apply it, and then go back to automatic and apply. Doing that has been pushing the cache through for me. It's not a permanent fix, but if it works for you as well it might help with the frustration and until last.fm sorts this mess out.

I've downloaded NepTunes and it's scrobbling fine from iTunes. Hope they fix their own scrobbler in the coming days so the cached tracks aren't lost and I can scrobble my iPod. It's not a good sign when third party apps work better than your own...

Bahahah I went away camping for a week so I literally have 11 days' worth of scrobbles from my iPhone during the camping trip and from iTunes since coming back just sitting in the cache. I'm hoping it's because of the site move, and that things will eventually start moving again because I've tried disconnecting the client and reauthorizing my account and it didn't fix it :/

It's now officially a week since I was last able to scrobble. Why are we being left in the dark on this?

Apparently from what I am reading, scrobbles only stay in the cache for two weeks and are gone forever.  So I guess it's one more week and then we lose all of our cached scrobbles?  The final countdown before the riot and subsequent exodus continues....

I think they stay in the cache file longer than that. However, the servers at last.fm only accept scrobbles that are less than 2 weeks old. So my guess (well, my hope) is, that last.fm staff realize that and temporarily disable this limitation.

My last scrobble according to my page was July 5. It doesn't work neither for desktop nor mobile scrobbles. Reconnecting the user did not work out so far. Last song in cache is from July 22 so I already lost quite a few (and it's for longer than 2 weeks in cache) ...

I've been doing the thing where you split the cache file up, and that has been working fine, but now I've had a couple of albums that although seem to scrobble (as in they no longer say 'cached' on the client and the cache file disappears), don't actually appear on the website. This is getting more and more messed up.

I’m getting really tired of this... I though the problem wasn’t fixed the last days because of the weekend, but it’s Monday and there’s not even an official reply telling us that they’re working on it (apart from the first one, which didn't help). It’s been five or six days since my last scrobble and I think the new website shouldn’t have been launched before having fixed this. Please, I want to scrobble!

I can now scrobble after deleting the cache log and saving it. Could a kind, patient soul do a super detailed, step by step breakdown of how you send the saved backlog back into the cache 5-10 tracks at a time. (i.e. when to quit/sign back in, what folder to put it in and when, what to look for, etc etc.) I have absolutely NO coding background -- so seriously,  explain it like I am a child :-) . I got one batch to work and I tried the next batch 3-4 diff ways and it doesn't seem to do anything. Grrr. But at least last.fm scrobbles "live" again.

so for whatever reason, I cannot find the cache.xml file anywhere.  I followed the instructions laid out in a few posts and found where it should be, but it is not there.  everything was scrobbling fine until I synced my ipod and now I guess it is jammed(but still shows as cached on the client).

so maybe if someone can explain to me like Im 5 how to find this and manually submit plays out of the cache that would be super. or maybe if an admin could just chime in and say be like fonzy and it will all work out that will be good too.  oddly enough spotify scrobbles normally without issue, but itunes has messed up the works.

Scrobbling does not work anymore from Audacious on Linux. Says there's a network problem. Cleared the Audacious config file manually to remove any references to the scrobbler plugin, authorized the API access to app again, still the same issue. Debug logs contain this:

I understand that working out some of the glitches that come with an upgrade or something of this nature will take a little time, but the most basic functions of this website and service are not functioning properly or at all. We need an official statement on a time frame of when the basic services will be restored. I don't think that is too much to ask.

For those of you still using the older desktop version (I'm using 1.5.4) I've discovered that when the tracks get stuck in cache, if I go to Tools >Options >Connection and the under Proxy settings simply click from automatic to manual, apply it and then go back to automatic, it pushes the cache through. Not a permanent fix, but if it works like it does for me it might save some scrobbles and ease the frustration while last.fm sorts this mess out.

Not sure if it works for newer versions, but it probably wouldn't hurt trying it out if the client has similar options.

I have to do this every single time I re-open the app, but it seems to work each time. If it works for you, spread the word!

Bless you highwind, that worked like a charm. I saw that in my settings before, but I wasn't sure what it would do. My play count seems weird and I can't tell if any got dropped without combing through my recent tracks, but it sent the cache to the server and I can now scrobble live. I saved my cache so I can manually scrobble anythign that's missing. So happy right now. Thank you!

I'm beginning to wonder what's the point of Last FM if the the most basic useful part of the site is broken, I use Scrobble app 1.5.4.2 on an old G5 mac, it's the last version that works on the old PPC macs. Last Scrobble 24th July!

Chas, have you tried what highwind suggested? The instructions are slightly different for Mac, here is what I did: Last.fm->Preferences->Connection, then Select Proxy Settings->Manual, apply, then switch back to Automatic. Worked for me! Back up your cache file first, in case any submitted scrobbles get dropped. Help->Diagnostics and click Copy to clipboard.

Is that an older version of the app? I don't have a Connection section under Preferences.
