As you might know, there is an Opera add-on called Install Chrome Extensions which enables adding any extension from the Chrome Web Store in Opera. Afterwards you can scrobble with Opera either with the Last.fm scrobbler extension or scroblr. The former is also available as an add-on for Firefox in the meantime, the latter is available for Safari as well.

Furthermore you can also install Friends Who Listen which lists your friends = people you follow on every Last.fm artist / album / track page. This extension is also available for Firefox.

Hopefully there will be a similar wrapper for MS Edge soon, as this browser also supports Chrome extensions since the Windows 10 Anniversary update. Scrobbling Spotify's web player with IE, Edge and Safari is already possible with the new Last.fm feature for Spotify scrobbling that you can enable in your applications settings. You don't need a browser extension in this case (see the official announcement for more info), so this should be useful for people who cannot install the Spotify desktop client or another browser due to restrictions at their workplace, school etc.

If you want to scrobble Deezer's web player with Opera, you should rather use the web scrobbler browser extension mentioned above offering more features and less bugs than Deezer's internal scrobbling option which seems to be broken at the moment anyhow including scrobbling on mobile devices. Furthermore Deezer is testing a new layout for their web player which has to be adapted by the browser extension.

The Last.fm web scrobbler for Chrome is also officially available as a Firefox version in the Mozilla add-on store now, so you do not have to install it manually anymore:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/web-scrobbler/

The latest Opera versions offer a free VPN service inside the browser now, so you can easily use e.g. an American IP to scrobble from sites like Pandora or Spotify when you live outside of the U.S. This also helps with some YouTube videos which you cannot play due to country restrictions, e.g. the latest Saturday Night Live videos with Melissa McCarthy as U.S. press secretary Sean Spicer.

And if you want to scrobble with the Spotify web player which does not have internal scrobbling anymore, you can use the new Spotify Scrobbling (Beta) feature on your Applications settings page now, even with MS Edge and IE or Safari.

By the way, MS Edge will be using the Chromium engine for its next version as well, like e.g. Opera:

So it should be possible to finally scrobble with a MS browser and a Chrome extension without any further tinkering.
