Show # of scrobbles in recent tracks

Very simply, I'd like to see the # of scrobbles for tracks listed in the Recent Tracks area.

For example, instead of just listing

Old 97's — My Two Feet

it would display

Old 97's — My Two Feet - 37 Scrobbles

This is my most viewed area on last.fm, and the more information in Recent Tracks, the better.

Thanks for consideration!

I very much support this idea. My rationale / use case is this: I am using the "Discover Weekly" music recommendation from Spotify (https://support.spotify.com/us/using_spotify/playlists/discover-weekly/).

I like this list and get a lot of useful recommendations out of it. However, Spotify likes to sneak in songs that I already know (from previous discover weekly editions) into this list.

Validating that I have already listened to this song is by far the most important reason for me to use last.fm. However, I have to click on each song I want to validate in order to see if I have already scrobbled it. Seeing this scrobble count immediately in the "Recent Tracks" view would be a huge improvement for me.

You could also achieve this with the Last.fm desktop app. It has a "Now Playing" tab that shows information about the artist you're listening to.

I will check this out! Until this very moment I wasn't aware that such an app existed. Thank you!

It works! I am reading some sinister stuff about the application not being supported any further, but for the moment this is all going swimmingly. Thanks again!

Great! The app is pretty ancient and doesn't get updated anymore. But I've been using it for this purpose for the last 5+ years with Spotify so you shouldn't have any issues. It's really useful for discovering new artists.

By looking more closely at the screenshot you kindly provided I noticed that I haven't reached scrobbling nirvana just yet. I can see my scrobbles on the "Scrobbles" tab (needing to refresh for this), however my "Now Playing" tab is blank - different from what your screenshot shows.

Could you give me a hint on how to make this "Now Playing" tab come alive? I noticed the "Enabling scrobbling by getting the Last.fm app for Spotify." message on top of your "Now Playing" tab and I think I am missing this.

Hang on, I just saw the last.fm desktop scrobbler on the last.fm page. Let me try this.

Okay, I additionally installed the desktop scrobbler and this seems to be refreshing the "Scrobbles" tab once I select it, but my "Now Playing" tab is still blank.

Hmm. Then it could be that it doesn't work with the latest versions of Spotify. I'm still using an older version from before Spotify broke the internal Scrobbling option.

If that's the case, sorry I got your hopes up  :(

Hey James - no problem. The scrobbler in its current shape is already a big help. It's much quicker to check for previous scrobbles this way, especially in light of the load times on the last.fm website. So a big step forward for me. Thanks again!

While more info being readily available on our profiles isn't a bad idea, I'm not sure this suggestion would look good - I think it could make the Recent Tracks area appear quite cluttered.

As an alternative, you could make scrobble info appear in a tooltip bubble, as currently all that happens when you hover over tracks on Recent Tracks is it shows the trackname again. Here's a mockup:

I guess I would still prefer the clutter, but the mouse-over would also be a big help.

Hi,
I find this info pretty useful, but not in the recent tracks list as you  (eventually as the pop-up when mouse-over).

But this page: https://www.last.fm/user/_/now which is already available for each user could contain info you requested; this page will be much more useful than it is now if it displays all info you requested.

It's not maintained since long ago (for instance it has a little bug: when you stop listening from any source, it keeps displaying the last song played, which is pretty misleading).

Great suggestion - I don't think it is critical that the info shows up in the "recent" section: it would just be nice to have it at a place where it shows up without further click-action.

This now page would probably make more sense (I didn't know it existed) and would probably also reduce server load as only the total number of scrobbles of the current song have to be queried.
