The current mod test version of the new beta catalogue has a simple option to vote if an artist/album/track name is correct or not. I don't know if this might be the version that will be released for subscribers soon or not. But the simplicity hints at the automatic correction that will probably be run on those flagged names afterwards.

So does voting mean that only tracks/albums that are popular enough to get votes will be changed? Would we still have to report individual problems somewhere else? For example, I have an apostrophe issue and want to get the two albums merged

but considering I'm only 1 of 18 people using the first one, I'm not sure how many votes the issue would get :'(

If you switch to using the correct one, you won't notice the problem that much :-)

Last.fm has never been a private diary of your favorite spellings for artists, albums and track names. You should not expect your version of an apostrophe becoming globally used after merging with the one that more than 8k people have used for almost 200k scrobbles.

You can still disable autocorrection in your personal website settings, so your favorite spelling will be visible in your library, even if the two versions will be merged one day. At the moment staff is not merging them anyway, as they are only collecting feedback for the new catalogue.

All I know is that in certain cases Last FM is still being used by other companies for play stats reporting purposes and that obviously these stats are all compromised due to either spelling misstakes or wrong entries or ''scrobbles''... the Billie Davies one has been rendered useless due to these wrong entries/wrong scrobbles/spelling misstakes and there is no governing body to manage these ... wow ... so much for better/more information since the dot com crash.

This song: http://www.last.fm/music/ZOE/_/Loin+D%E2%80%99ici+%28Eurovision+2016+-+Austria%29

Is linked to a Mexican rock band, which is completely wrong. The correct artist is actually a female Austrian singer: http://www.last.fm/music/Zo%C3%AB

It's just annoying to see some random Mexican rock band that I've never heard of appearing in my top tracks and top artists section! Could this please be fixed?

That random Mexican band has been making music for 20 years and is pretty well known among Spanish speakers. The problem is that both fans of Zoë and Zoé are idiots that can't tag or use proper accents, it seems.

I'm not a Spanish speaker.

Also the song came on a compilation album which I bought, with the artist name for the song being "ZOE", so your assumption that I'm an idiot who can't use proper accents is incorrect.

Hey, you pointed out the proper spelling of her name. If anything, whoever put that comp together is the idiot.

Paula Vesala http://www.last.fm/music/Paula+Vesala and Vesala http://www.last.fm/music/+noredirect/Vesala are the same person. Since 2015 she has released music under her surname only. But Vesala redirects to a totally different artist Edward Vesala http://www.last.fm/music/Edward+Vesala which is totally incorrect.

Hi!
98 Degrees have a duplicate on Last.FM.

The entry that appears to be correct is here, and this one is what Spotify reports, and seems to be incorrect, because the styled name isn't even 98o, but 98° (note the degree symbol instead of ordinal indicator), and for the styled name we already have a redirect to the complete name.

I don't understand why "The Desperate Bicycles" are automatically redirected to Desperate Bicycles.  As you can see here: https://www.discogs.com/fr/artist/674415-The-Desperate-Bicycles 1 album and 4 out of 5  singles were released as The Desperate Bicyles. So what happened to the "The"? Someone should correct, i think.

Also: Radiators isn't being accepted as an artist on its own and is being automatically redirected to The Radiators. WRONG!! Because 1984 single: I am Sure is by Radiators (https://www.discogs.com/fr/Radiators-I-Am-Sure/release/341923) and this artist has absolutely nothing to do with the Australian band The Radiators or any other The Radiators that may exist. Please someone correct this!

The moniker "214" isn't being acknowledged. I don't understand why. But on my list of artists scrobbled it shows [unknown] instead of 214.

I have a small record label (about 20 releases). In this new world, where people listen to music on sites like last.fm which pay artists virtually nothing, the LEAST they could do is provide correct information to listeners who care. It's as if last.fm does not care that real human beings make this music and spend a lot of money to get it right. We cannot even connect with people who like our music if you can't get the information right. We artists/labels would correct the information and upload the cover art if that were possible. This system is so broken.

Hi,

The band that used to be called LUH: http://www.last.fm/music/Luh/+shoutbox

now use their full name instead, Lost Under Heaven: http://www.last.fm/music/LOST+UNDER+HEAVEN

Is it possible to merge scrobbles under the new name?

That would afford an autocorrection from the old name to the new one. You can vote if the name is correct or not on both profiles, but it will take more time to globally enable new autocorrections in the new music catalogue again, see also the related support thread.

It will be better to turn it off at all by last.fm - anyway now auto-correction completely useless in current form. Erratic and wrong redirects only annoys people.

Please can this song: http://www.last.fm/user/timmyc1983/library/music/I+Am+Kloot/_/Your+Favourite+Sky be corrected to this title: http://www.last.fm/music/I+Am+Kloot/I+Am+Kloot/From+Your+Favourite+Sky .
I have over 100 scrobbles of the wrong title as this is how it ripped into my iTunes library and don't want to lose them :(

This artist has 30 songs at most, but around 500 due to incorrect spelling. I'm willing to correct all of these by hand http://www.last.fm/music/태민/+tracks

Any update yet? I don't understand why there's an option to say a track/artist is tagged incorrectly and then nothing changes.

Just forget about this function - it's not working at all for an ages. And never will.

Last.fm will not change any redirects (add or remove) while working on the new release catalogue. You can vote and they will be used when changes are turned on again.

This album https://www.last.fm/music/Aron+Scott/Earthquake

is by this artist https://www.last.fm/music/Aron+Scott+Earthquake

Can this be fixed please. It's currently linking to the wrong artist (who is a complete different genre, I might add).
