Switch to dark theme option.

Hi. I recently saw this thread, and I was wondering, is it possible to make an option to switch to a dark theme? YouTube implemented this option if you haven't known. Here's the video. Can you do something like this on last.FM site?

That's a 'would be nice' feature, but realistically I don't think it's a priority for us right now.  Keep in mind that youtube is primarily a video site, and minimising glare and contrast are bigger considerations. Still, I'll raise it with product, you never know.

In the meantime, I've seen some pretty nice skin / themes that achieve more or less the same result.

I posted this already in another thread. Maybe it's helpful for the last.fm web developers: https://9to5mac.com/2018/10/24/safari-beta-dark-mode-theme-websites/

Just found a related Reddit thread about the browser extension Stylus (successor to Stylish which collects user data). The Reddit user edited the recommended RSBK style a bit in terms of background colours for Recent and Top Tracks which I like better. This is how my Last.fm profile currently looks with the default RSBK style in Opera 58 which has a dark mode for browser header and settings as well:

And here are some older Get Satisfaction threads with the same idea:

Right, that is why I mentioned the Reddit thread about the improved version by another user. Thanks for the info about the RSBK creator not being able to fix it at the moment due to the new website design.

In the meantime the other user has replied to my questions about an orange mod icon and yellow background for the "Scrobbling now" track in his style version, and I am using his style now:

Here is another example of an artist profile using the improved style:

And here is how the new Last.month listening report looks like with it (available to subscribers only):

Last but not least my Last.year 2018 listening report:

This is new to people? Stylish dark skins have existed for last.fm for many years. Some are good some are less so. Used different versions for a while, they are a nice novelty at the beginning but after a while you'll come back to non dark look.

The new thing about this altered CSS is that it works with the new Last.fm website design while others don't.

There is another one available since late April 2019 which looks good, too, and works with the new design as well:

Looks pretty nice, only the font colors don't match.

In related news the Deezer web player offers an official dark mode now without the need for a browser extension. Their beta Android and iOS apps have already tested this for several weeks, so hopefully their desktop app will follow soon which also offers FLAC streaming. Here are screenshots of My Music page and the play queue:

The new desktop version 4.13.4 offers dark mode now, also their new iOS app. Here are two screenshots from an "Inspired by..." playlist and the queue with that playlist in the desktop app:
