I've listed this as a problem and not an idea because it IS a problem.
I have (or had) about 40 artists in my library that I had either tagged as "seen live", or with something else because I was going to listen to them but hadn't had the time yet. Now all of those artists are gone, and I can't remember the names of all of them and so I have no way of finding them again.
This is completely ridiculous, I mean; I had about 830 artists in my library at that time, I don't have all of them written down somewhere - I thought the point of this site was to KEEP TRACK of stuff. Just why would you remove them for no good reason???

Please bring them back somehow. Imagine how annoyed you'd be.
(And if you refuse to do so, why the heck didn't you warn us that you were going to change the site today so that there was a possibility of writing down the names of said artists!?)

Hi,

i think i have 300/400 artists scrobled without any listen, now with the old site gone i can't find them back.

Please let us use the old site to write down the missing artists ?

On the old site i had almost 1500 artists, now i have 1100. With the same amount of scrobbles more or less (sorry i didn't pay attention exactly)

Yeah, at the very least let us export the artists from the old last.fm...

Thanks for reporting.

I've escalated this with the team, and what they've told me is that this is partly by design in that only scrobbled artists are counted on the new site (feel free to debate this decision), combined with the fact that your tags are not currently viewable in your library (yet).  Your tags page is currently being worked on, and once finished you'll be able to once again find the artists you've tagged with 0 scrobbles.

I'm sorry for the hassle in the meantime, it will be possible to keep track of this data soon.

Update:  Artists with 0 scrobbles are now visible in your library, see here for details: https://getsatisfaction.com/lastfm/topics/where-are-the-artists-i-ve-added-to-my-library-but-not-scr...

I had more than 1000 artist added along sustainable along the time with the "add to my library" tool as you didn't advice us, please let us a chance to get back to the old site and save those pages, I am really frustrated I don't use any Icloud for instance but I trusted on your site that info would never be erased........

You removed your site's bookmarking feature because you didn't think anybody used it?

Did anybody involved in the new design even bother to check actual usage before deciding to ditch features?

"You removed your site's bookmarking feature because you didn't think anybody used it?"

No, that's not what I said.  I don't know how you got that impression.

The ability to bookmark artists you're interested in, but haven't scrobbled yet, is an important feature and will be coming back.  More information can be found here: https://getsatisfaction.com/lastfm/topics/where-are-the-artists-i-ve-added-to-my-library-but-not-scr...

"In the future we plan to restore this data and provide you with more ways to manage the artists and albums you’re interested in or want to listen to."

Ok. It has been A LOOOONG WHOLE since then and me too have just logged in Last.Fm after a quite good time and now ALL the artists I've adeed to the Library are GONE. And I don't remember ALL of them! I'd like to have all the artists back to the Library so that I can follow their work again.

HOW do I fix this, for Heaven's sake?!

I have (er, had) a number of 0-listened artists, a mix of untagged and tagged (eg, "hear", "hear soon")  that were more important to me than other random artists I haven't listened to yet.

Some were even artists I do regularly listen to that don't scrobble properly from Spotify (example: any "early music" recording). Last.fm had been a more powerful tool for keeping track of these things than some excel spreadsheet I could make. Especially with the similar artists results right at hand.

I had been adding some artists to my library that I wanted to revisit later. Now i am missing about 100 artists, since they had no scrobbles. So, there is not even any way for me to see what artists I had saved anymore? If I had known, I'd have made a list before they vanished from my library. Last.fm always needed some kind of "bookmark this artist" feature (other than tags), it would have been cool if we had been able to save artists to listen later and then had a radio station for all bookmarked artists. Now even this method of just adding them to the library is gone, and apparently irretrievable. Huge disappointment.

I'm missing few thousands of artist to check out later, collected since 2011, there is no way to bring it back by myself. Come on, please do something with it, it can't be lost!

What I think without being disrespectful is that 80% of the users who are complaining here is that added artists/songs with 0 plays (Tagged or Untagged recommended by last fm, friends, journalists, etc) took an inmense effort from behalf of users and subbies. Spending value time diving inside the great Last Fm wiki format allowing us to explore music as NO other site has done was a great feat that could keep partially.

But the data accumulated along the years MUST BE RESPECTED to protect those manually made libraries!! WE CLAIM OUR RIGHT to REOBTAIN that KIDNAPPED LIBRARY

On the other side users/subscribers wouldn't be so harrased if they recover That library as if you took out this feature of adding artist/songs for the only purpose of it (adding unscrobbled artist)

I think as it is such an important matter for the "users/subbies victims" that on this point is the negotiation if not Last Fm will attain to a huge migration consecuence.
