The most weirdest error ever.

This probably the weirdest error I ever saw in my life. Currently, I listened to glam metal band Autograph and their 1985 album That's the stuff. I went to my library to see the listening statistics, and I noticed that two albums merged, one has 15 scrobbles; another album has 288 scrobbles. This wouldn't be a problem if the album that has 288 scrobbles doesn't redirect me to an album that has 15 scrobbles. I don't know how did this happen, but the similar case happened with the album Surveillance by Triumph. One has almost 800 scrobbles; another album that cloned by itself have eight scrobbles. When I click on an album that has eight scrobbles, it redirects me to an album that I scrobbled almost 800 times. What is this?

Screenshot.

The first album has 288 scrobbels; the fourth album at the bottom has 15. I don't how did this happen, but as I said, the similar case happened with Surveillance by Triumph. Here's another screenshot.

Does anyone how did this happen? Username, Samson-91.

My library:
https://www.last.fm/user/Samson-91/library/music/Triumph
https://www.last.fm/user/Samson-91/library/music/Autograph
I hope you can fix this.

Yeah, I encountered several cases like this as well.
Didn't bother to list them though as virtually nothing reported here gets fixed :)

It seems that I'm not the only one who has this problem.

Yes, this is a known issue; it can happen when you scrobble an album artist that is different to the track artist of the track you're scrobbling.

The library currently displays the track artist, rather than the album artist, in album views. Where the same album has been scrobbled multiple times with different track and album artists, it will show it twice, always with the track artist.

In the case of "That's The Stuff", you have "Autograph (U.S.A.)" as the album artist on a lot of your scrobbles.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Laura

Update of my ticket. When I clicked on listening range statistics collected in 2016, I get this:

Samson-91 didn't scrobble this album during the selected date range. Try expanding the date range or view scrobbles for all time.

I've an error something like this, I've never listened the artist named Sabaton, but their "To Hell and Back" track went to my top track. It's not bothered me for a while, hoped someone going to recognize and remove it. But after a several months passed, nothing happened, so I'll post it here, and hope it disappears from my list...

I have a similar issue, only its for a single song and the plays redirect me to the song with more plays. It seems to be because of an autocorrect issue, despite me having the feature turned off.

Bump! Can we get an update on this issue? It's been ten months since Laura replied to my ticket. Thanks.

To get it fixed I had to review all tracks from the albums that had this problem and deleted whatever is written on the Album Artist field to avoid future album duplicates. I deleted the scrobblings from the date the duplicate albums were created. It wasn't always like this, the problem started maybe on april 2016 when Last.fm ''fixed'' autocorrections. Sometimes what's written on the Album Artist field doesn't match the Artist field. And if it matches, it creates a duplicate anyways because of unknow reasons.

Same here! Scrobbles of one album dispart into two entities with identical album page. This album: https://www.last.fm/music/Sopor+Aeternus+&+The+Ensemble+of+Shadows/Todeswunsch+-+Sous+Le+Soleil+De+Saturne is displayed in my library in the following way: https://www.last.fm/user/czarna_divoka/library/music/Sopor+Aeternus+&+The+Ensemble+of+Shadows Tags in the files are the same everywhere. I've deleted the data in Album Artist field in the files, as some users above have recommended, but it couldn't help. Is it possible to fix this?

This should be fixed when we deploy the new scrobble storage / user library service next month.  Details will be posted in the next few weeks.

As I understand it, the plan is to start rolling out the new system to a small number of users starting next sprint, and gradually increase the number over the following weeks (assuming it doesn't fall over).  Once everyone's moved over to the new system, and it's stable / performing as expected, we'll decommission the existing system.  On the whole, you should notice many changes in your library, save for bugs like this one being fixed, but we'll go into the details nearer the time.

Update of my old ticket. According to Last.FM I listened to an album Van Halen I. When I visit my profile I see this message. Samson-91 hasn't listened to this album yet. He claims that I listened to this release, but I don't see those listening activities. The calendar on the right side of the screen is not showing did I listened to this album in 2015 - present or not. (Click the thumbnails to see it better.)

Here's another one:

These are all known symptoms of the same problem and will be fixed with the new library / scrobble database.

In this case, the scrobble it's referring to is this one:

I'm crossing my fingers to finally get that new library. I cannot wait to see how it works.
