I will speak for everyone that uses and loves this website.

Don't think "Oh, this is only a matter of time until they all get used to the new website." No. No. No. Because you know you can't force anyone to use this. You have messed up so bad. This was my favorite website, I had it open on a tab almost 24/7 (everytime I was in my laptop, I had it open). I have made great friendships and I only use this since April.

It's sad to leave 10k scrobbles behind (and I can't even imagine how I would feel if I had 100k+ like some people do), but I will 100% leave this if you don't change it back to the previous perfect,  and simply wonderful design.

Thank you.

In 2007 last.fm was acquired by CBS Interactive, USA for 280 millions US$. They won't bring our beloved site back. :( I will cancel my subscription and I am thinking about leaving for good. MarinasMusic - since 2009 on last.fm

100% agreed! This has become a music playing site like Spotify, no the social-oriented friendly site it used to be.

Exactly, and why would anybody need two spotifys? The strenght of last.fm was in its difference and they just broke all of it and left just what we already can find elsewhere.

The neighbourhood function seems to be removed! It was almost the only reason I was using Lastfm. Instead of improving this algorythm they deleted it. Stupid asses!

It even just piggybacks on Spotify itself for music playback. There is literally no value added by using the Last.FM website anymore.

EDIT: I know it sucks. You had a lot of work to develop this new design, but let's face it: IT'S BAD. What do you find more important: your opinion or your users' opinions? Because the users keep this site alive.

Exactly, 100%. I've *always* had Last.fm website open on my browser these last 10 years. I used it for recommendations especially. Now I can't even do that -- there's no Neighbors, you can only readily see the top 5 artists of users so you can't even judge their music taste without digging deeper into their userpage. It's ridiculous. We had a good run, guys.

It didn't matter what I was doing online, I always had last.fm open in a window where I was checking what friends (not followers) were listening to or getting new music recommendations. Lately it was open purely to catch the many weeks where we had duplicated scrobbles. Now though, what's the point since the website shows very little information?

I am so disappointed with the recent changes.

I have my 3rd profile. 110k on the last one, over 80k on the previous two. This update makes the whole website useless and if they are now going to listen and give us all the features back, I only wish them to die in a painful way ball-crushingly screaming.

I agree. I don't have nor I see a reason to stay on site where I can't store my music and care for it properly nor enjoy it with friends and people who listen simmilar music to me.
I am extracting still my data from profile, when I'm done I'm leaving since nothing will change.
I just have high hope for Hatchet site launching soon and maybe being better as old last.fm *O*

Scrobbling is the only thing working, all my friends in profile are gone although I still can see them on client scrobbling - and swearing for these issues, I guess - as well. No avatar either. Actually I'm not even logged in because it doesn't let me so I'm like split in two. Fun since less than a month ago I decided to get back here with a new account, after a one-year hiatus and six being active with the previous one... Good decision, uh.

I'm not scrobbling anything until they fix it or revert it to the previous format. I'm one of the people you mentioned with over 100K scrobblings, almost 200K but quite honestly, I can live without knowing how much music I listen to. I used this site mainly to get recommendations and discovering new music, but there's plenty of other sources I can go to. To sum it up: it was fun while it lasted.
Also, signing up to an external site just to post this? FU last.fm.

I'm with you. I've been a scrobbler and subscriber at Last.fm since 2007. Well over 150,000 scrobblings, 8000 loved tracks. I give them until the end of September to change back, or it's Last.fm...you're FIRED!

I want my numbers fixed too, I've lost a bunch of artists but because I have (well, had) just under 1500 artists I have no way of telling which ones I've lost. I hope they fix this when they finish importing the database (something they should've done in the 6 months they've had the beta site around for)

Lucas, hun. Not to be rude but... pay attention. Then you'd know why so many people like myself are upset. Read some reviews. Read the articles on the petition pages. There ARE petition pages. So something is definitely wrong here.

Reducing the about me characters to 200 and then not being able to put in code for band logos and other stats, then also unable to copy my old about me info.. so no. I don't like the new design and i'm not going to waste my time with a poorly designed less functional social music site.

Agreed, pics are too big, you can only see a few artists. Sometimes the pics don't even load properly and my profile pic no longer works. I've also lost countless plays, at least 14 or 15 plays off my most listened to song in the last 30 days... What is this hell that last.fm has become? There was literally nothing wrong with the old site at all...

RIP last.fm. I've been here since 2007, clocked up so many scrobbles, friends, the whole lot. I too would have my profile open in a separate tab every single day - checking on my events, on my friends plays, just to easily look up bands that were recommended to me - see what users I had similar tastes too, updating my journals, joining some great groups, and having the option to customise my profile to my tastes. All gone. It's like some clueless managing director and some nerdy web designer fresh out of uni came along and took a fat dump over everything i once loved about this website. So much disappointment, I feel both furious and sad. Anyone know of any other similar sites to how this used to be? Because if they keep it like this, I'm certainly not going to be sticking it out. What an absolute mess....

I predict a mass exodus of users in the next couple of weeks. They've clearly not listened to user feedback at all. Which tells you everything you need to know about the types of people running it. Well if they failed to listen to us, then we won't be around anymore to give a shit about their failed site. I'm uninstalling my scrobbler as we speak. What a joke.

haha, I don't think I'd ever delete it, just on the off chance they reverted back to what people loved about it in the first place - and it would also completely break my heart to lose all those scrobbles and the database I've built up over almost the past decade. I simply just won't use it anymore.

EDIT 2: Since having a ton of people complaining about the new design doesn't seem to bother you, at least give our lost scrobbles back. I will just stick to scrobble my tracks without visiting the website. I am so disappointed, but whatever, it just seems like we're talking to a wall.

Last fm died in 2010 with the radio my friends. This change is just CBS toying around with its corpse. The site is ugly..I mean, I have to scroll down to see what I am listening to..that wasn't necessary on the old site.
If there was an option to revert to the old site, that would be appreciated. I had a great bio written up over 11 years also with stats and records bought. Gone.

I've been here since 2006, got a beefy 315,000+ scrobbles and if this site remains as it is...I'm probably bailing. This isn't the same site I joined nearly ten years ago and I'm not seeing anything that's been a positive change for the user. Just a lot of Facebook/Google+ integration where it's not welcome.

Damn, I honestly thought i was the only one who had the site open literally 24/7! I only had this thing for about year and a half but I'm still furious and sad about this as if i have had it for 10 years. I'm not demanding "the old Last.fm back" because i understand that they literally had to upgrade it. I just want it to be similar to it with all the same features and hopefully couple of new ones. Username change, deciding the picture you want for artists to show in the library etc.

@Chadion I know! I'm totally in your boat. This update has absolutely devastated me even though I've only been here for 16 months. I found so many people who listened to similar artists as me (and my tastes are a minority). I must have discovered over 20 new artists and fallen in love with at least 10 of them and it was because of all the leeway we had in sifting through similarity charts and compatibility bars for other users as well as the super helpful multiple pages of artist tracks (which has since been reduced to only 50 tracks). I have never listened to so much music in my life and now I have lost so much interest in scrobbling because I don't know if I'll be able to broaden my library like I have in the past.

The About Me section is a huge component that is important to me. Going on a person's page and taking one glance at it tells you exactly what kind of person they are. Now we're all units of measure. Not users.
