To the staff: do you realize that the longer you take, the more people will quit?

To last.fm:

The longer you take to either (1) redesign the site (2) bring back the old site while you fix the new one (3) bring back the old site forever ...

the more people will quit, the more people will find other sites to be at (such as RYM, google music, spotify, apple music)

So if you're at all interested in money, or keeping your own jobs... you've got to do something to fix this outrage.

Otherwise it's clear your team is going to be known as "The team that killed Last.fm for good"

You guys had a chance to make the site more friendly, add more social features, add more stats, make the site cleaner, more organized, more sleek.... but someone messed up on the design side.

Please: fix last.fm

We'll never get the old site back, that's for sure. I want them to do all the things you say at the end, though. And I want them to respond to complaints and ideas and the like.

I'm starting to get used to the new lay-out now. Not that I think it's better than the old one, but I'm getting used to it. They better fix the problems and let us know what's going on, though. I think that's what will lower the number of people leaving.

The three biggest issues for me is:
1) Scrobbles are no longer accurate and I'm losing a lot of scrobbles and gaining ones I didn't listen to. I have no control to delete ones, or even add ones that are missing.
2) The site, even if I can get used to the library and the new layout, is hideous and I look all the stat badges and options you could add to your sidebar in the past. Those things really made last.fm fun for me and removing those makes it very difficult for me to enjoy the site.
3) I feel that this will kill last.fm for enough people that one day they're going to 'pull the plug' on the website, thus deleting all my scrobbles and everything I've been working on (tagging, events, cover arts, uploading music, inbox) since 2007.

And thinking about all 3 of those things depresses me so much. I wish I was back in 2007-2009 last.fm when it was in it's peak and it seemed like it was going to last forever.

I totally get what you are saying. But it could be possible that they fix the sidebar. They better do that, because I totally agree with you. I want my ́genre-text'-thing back. I loved seeing that thing change over time.

Even though they are not responding to all of the threads (which I kind of understand, seeing all the raging in there... not that I am okay with them not letting us in on their plans), they keep marking them with things like acknowledged and planned etc. So I hope they keep adding features...

One good thing in new layout - delete account :/ I think that the staff is just ignoring us, that's all.

As I've said before, they seem to be trying to kill off last.fm

The streaming services you mentioned aren't alternatives to Last.FM. They don't provide the charts for the users. Many of them allow users to scrobble the music they are listening on the streaming service to Last.FM.  Last.FM's primary role is to collect our listening data and generate the charts. Streaming music was always secondary and now that there are so many great streaming services available, it makes sense that they are trying to integrate them.

And they are not going to bring the old website back. They made the new one because a lot of it's code was outdated. That's why the features were constantly breaking down.

I don't know if Hatchet will be like this but i can hope it'll be like last.fm and provide charts. http://blog.hatchet.is/ It'll only take one site to do it and last.fm is pretty much gone, the charts are now a joke, the about me has been reduced to 200 character text and nothing has been announced so they can switch the site back for unhappy users. Had this new rollout been better planned out maybe people wouldn't be upset but i can't trust Last.fm no longer because the customization is now gone! I can't even put back my info or get my info on about me because last.fm screwed it up!

It is easier to update the code than to start from scratch, Mateja.
I think the bigger issue is how we are being ignored.

Now my emotions are gone, and I'm just sad and disappointed. Old site won't back, 'cos it would be illogical (all money paid for making new one will be lost), but nothing changed in these days which passed, and I won't stay long with people who ignore us that much.
Only one good side in this "new" site is, that we, last.fm users, are unity, and we will fight for better days for this site. It's nice to know, that at least our community is something unbelievable awesome.

They haven't offered anything in place for the lost 'about me' section and i don' think they care. Last.fm is pretty much gone and there's no reason to go back. The new site is missing features and i had lost all the info i had in about me (probably because it was too long for last.fm servers or something) but i don't care. It's just been one big waste of time and i no longer feel a part of the community when they had ignored feedback. They didn't want to change the 200 character limit then, no reason they would try to fix it now. Last.fm has become myspace and i don't think many people will be coming back to last.fm. I sure am not, not since they deleted my info on my sidebar. They could have done this better and could offered to even do a separate page or something, but they changed too much and last.fm is no longer last.fm anymore.

If they were trying to gain revenue with the new site's facelift they are doing it wrong. Their funds are going to dry up and the site is going to become bankrupt.

Whispered X - I had past "about me" in profile options, just under new "about me" section. Don't you have it there?

I don't think the staff gives a shit and ever since this new design none of my recent scrobbles show up. First Facebook , Now twitter , Now Last FM. these people always fixes what is not broken.

They didn't bring in this new look for the members they bring it in for themselves with no regard's how angry and annoyed it would make us feel.
