Having these things... might make it feel like the old website... but I'm afraid we've lost 80% of the old last.fm features.

1) Ability to delete scrobbles.
2) Ability to customize page ( number of top artists, changing the layout)
3) Sidebar profile (this was one of my TOP features of last fm was adding badges and pictures on the side)
4) Band Name - Song Title (in recent listens)
5) Album art in recent listens
6) Album art is missing for many albums
7) Being able to see which friends listen to a particular band when you visit that band's page
8) Everything is too big, along with too much whitespace. It looks bad on a desktop... and bad on a mobile browser.

I'm kinda flabbergasted that Last.fm would think ANY of this is a good idea. All of the things that I enjoyed about Last.fm have disappeared, and honestly, if half of those features aren't added back soon(ish) then I think I'll have to say adios to a once dear friend...

i have a feeling that some big company "think tank" team came up with this as a way to attract more of the general public (meaning that they basically dumbed it waaay down, and made it look like every other crappy social-ish site). if they are smart and want to save their brand, they will listen to their users and bring back the old site, or at least make absolutely sure that all the old features are still available.

having seen so many companies over the years that would rather watch their own brand burn (i.e. myspace) than admit they messed something up and take the time to fix it, i dunno if they will change any of this....i suppose we shall see.

Neighbours. The compatibility bar. Recommendations. Even new features are broke; you can no longer play in spotify the top tracks for a tag and those places where you can play spotify via the site (e.g. a user's top and recent tracks) no longer automatically play one after another so you have to click on each track individually. 412,775 scrobbles 27,739 artists since Nov 2006 and i didn't realise how often i check the site till you changed it because i still keep refreshing the page out of habit and each time it's like a slap in the face. So many features missing that i took for granted. I can't believe how good i didn't realise the site was till you destroyed it.

I don't want to sound like a grumpy old person, but I hate it. Nothing is clear for me, profiles show too little information now, I prefered when you could have seen album covers in scrobbled songs section, the library... it's just awful, where is my description and why can it be only 200 characters?,  why can't I arrange my favourite bands in order of my preferance in main page of my profile?, where are other kinds of customization?, why in scrobbles the song title is first and not the artist?, where did my oldest messages on my profile go?, where are MY events?, why would I care about the news that are in on top of the page?, why are my FRIENDS my followers and people I follow now?, why can't I see who listens to the band at its page?, where are groups?, AND MANY FUCKING MORE. Seriously, last.fm used to be my favourite site ever, and now? It's just a piece of crap. It's AWFUL. Were all those changes necessary? To be really honest, I just cried a little because to see what last.fm has become... It hurts.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates the new site. I loved the old last.fm but this is just garbage. Old site was laid out nice and had all the info you wanted right there. This new site is horrid: you have to scroll to see anything and most of the info isn't even there. bring back the old site please

I'm trying to understand. But I really can't get it. Nothing make sense in this new lay-out. Something's odd. It's like made to drive us away.

I've hated this design from the moment the "beta" version was posted. If the point of the "beta version" was to get feedback - which I and after reading this thread, I can only imagine were scores of other users giving negative feedback - why not address those issues before launching this s(l)ick new version. Terrible design, terrible customer service, terrible ways of doing business. I have been a paid subscriber for years but plan on canceling my subscription.

Clever that no one can actually cancel their subscriptions at the moment...

Hmmmm.  Maybe a lot of paid subscribers will find they can no longer pay them at the moment.  That ought to get some attention.  Unless (not being a paid subscriber myself I don't know) you pay once and then you're up s**ts creek with no more leverage,  but if the payment DOES have to be renewed...

I don't usually complain about changes in websites but I'll do this time. I had around 3000 artists and I lost 800? Why is this? Will this be temporarily? Because if it loses the most important part which was tracking the bands I like/I'm interested in... where's the point?
And... maybe I'm blind, but where can I find the alphabetical order when I look for bands I like? I already know which bands are my favourite (they're on top) but I also want to listen sometimes those bands I don't listen that much. Who knows, maybe some of them are part of those vanished artists, it wouldn't surprise me.
I think some of the news features are fine, but they aren't the most important part of this website, which I guess it was tracking the bands you like.
Same thing about recommendations, I'm here to track bands I like and to know new bands (related to bands I already know) but if you take that away...?
Graphically my only problem is that it is too big (words included), but I already know my screen resolution (1360x768) usually has those problems. Like in Steam...

But well, that's a beta, so I only hope they fix it and I hope I didn't lose nearly 800 artists.

^ I can't edit it.

Well, I've seen recommendations are back (or I haven't seen them before). That's something.

They simply have contempt for us as users, we do not matter in the grand scheme of things. We just have to move on and leave this all behind.

The ludicrous rollout of this barely functioning site (that was previously a great site, R.I.P.), is akin to a six inch Stonehenge lowering from the rafters at a Spinal Tap concert.

The idea is THAT FUCKING BAD.

I agree with everything everyone else said. They did this to QuizUp and made a nice trivia app social. At least give an OPTION to revert back or something. I don't understand the logic behind this type of change.

The "my library" is a complete and utter disaster right now!
Where the heck did my beautiful, big, colorful pictures of all my top played-artists go? Oh, I see, into tiny little bubbles on an otherwise completely sterile-looking 90% white & grey-filled emptyness? WHAT ARE YOU DOING LAST.FM!!!

I've been an almost daily user since 2007 and I remember Last.fm going through some minor changes over the years, but this new look is horrible. It looks too much like that modern and sterile Windows 8-10 design and Facebook, which is completely dying out now. In 1-2 years this kind of look/style will be so off and they'll have to change it again anyways, just to keep up with the times. Nah, I just don't like the new design at all.

I have to agree. I actually wouldn't mind a new design, despite nostalgia for the old site. But the new design tries way to hard to fit into the "modern, twitter bootstrap-based, responsive" design category while completely disregarding UX. Looks almost as if they used a template from themeforest. The home page uses space very ineffectively...way too much scrolling there. I agree with Jack, it's very similar to the Windows 8 / Windows Phone design failures. Too bad.

First of all: sorry for any possible english mistake. Well, can someone explain to me if I can recover what was lost? I am talking about bands that I added to the library for remember to listen them another day. I was maintaining the bands in my library with 0 scrobbles to try them later, but now they are simply gone.

What happens when we die? Aside of our souls doing what we believe they'll do, our bodies begin to rot and so, swell. Now look at Last.fm. It does nothing, it's smelly and swollen.

LOOKS LIKE PRETTY FRICKING DEAD.

Last.fm staff decided to take this 10yo child prodigy, murder it, throw the body on the table and say it's better this way.

"Why?" you'd ask. Well, if you don't know what's it about, it's about money.

For me it was mainly about the statistics of my listening, and there's now far less visible at once; even with a 20" monitor I can only see ten artists listed at a time (used to be able to see at least 40 I think), and that's even after clicking through from my profile page which only seems to show the top five as big photos. I just want lists of stuff!

And there are only 50 on each page, with no obvious way of getting them all listed at once. I used to do a lot of using the "search page" function in my browser to see "I wonder where band X are on my all time list? Ah, 327". Now you've got to go through multiple pages to find that info.

I would be embarrassed and ashamed to work for a company that put out a product like this. The only conclusion I can come up with is that they purposefully tried to make it as awful and unbearable as they could. Why? Who the hell knows, but that's about the only thing that makes any sense here. It just blows my mind that anyone could come up with something like this and think it was a good idea, even more so that someone else would actually agree and give it the green light.

If this is the way it's going to remain, with no option whatsoever of switching back to the old version, then this truly is a sad day.

It would be great if we could all consolidate into a Last.fm group, as there are a number of support forum postings about this topic. Maybe we would find strength in numbers in terms of voicing our concerns regarding this misguided change to Last.fm moderators.

Does anyone know of any groups that are already started up for this purpose?

On the bright side, I just saved $3 a month! With the 7 years I've been a loyal fan, the next 7 years + savings will add up. And we all know they were planning to raise the rate anyway "if" their plan worked out. A sad day for all of us. I don't mind change at all. But with so many things unaccounted for that were the main attraction for Last.fm and the loyal music fans, what gives? If it's not broken, don't try to fix it. Upgrades are a different story. But you shouldn't try to sell a car to someone with no wheels on it?

I hope this doesn't need to be asked, but is top artists in the list view coming back? They can't be dropping this.

2) Ability to customize page ( number of top artists, changing the layout)

8) Everything is too big, along with too much whitespace. It looks bad on a desktop... and bad on a mobile browser.

This, and especially the sidebar profile. I want to be able to have badges, bandlogos and additional info on the side. I think there should be more top albums too along with the text version of your top 50 artists or at least the ability to view more right in the page.

Really though i think last.fm won't listen to any of this so most likely i'll be gone in a month if the sidebar profile is not restored.
