I wish there was a penalty for this sort of thing. Users who do this should have their uploading abilities suspended; it's both selfish and also inaccurate.

I also but in some of these cases they come up with accounts fakes that have scrobbles only until they can send the images, and in others they post even offensive messages against the users that sent the correct image for not accepting the different cover appearing in the list as in the commentary of this one image (https://www.last.fm/pt/music/Various+Artists/Summer+Feelin/+images/07e3808bd3351607f16baf624af54ce7) the worst is until now the modaraction have done nothing

indeed moderation can erase offensive messages as well? How do I report it? has several people cursing the album in Portuguese because the cover of it appeared in the miniature of a song of Ariana Great (beautiful egoists) https://www.last.fm/pt/music/Various+Artists/Summer+Feelin

As an added measure to prevent this kind of image trolling I would suggest to last.fm to up the scrobble limit for uploading images significantly. I won't say how many scrobbles one needs to be able to upload images since mods here won't disclose that either and I respect that but I know how many and it's low....very low.
If a troll user needs to work all day to get to a decent scrobble level to upload troll images I bet most won't put in the effort for that.

+1. I saw numerous trolls posting stupid inflammatory comments and images. But that's not the only issue; another problem is how those comments rapidly receive up to 60 likes in a week. I have a feeling that they are making tons of fake accounts or using a hacking script to abuse this feature. Moderators should do something to prevent this; it's getting out of control.

Yeah, there are definitely users who employ sockpuppet accounts to abuse the voting system - this has been well documented and often moaned about on here, lol.

In a way, any scrobbling limit is kind of pointless for these types of users since they can quickly and easily get around it with sites like The Universal Scrobbler.

I'm not sure what the answer is since thresholds are only effective for rule-abiding users. Possible more-effective thresholds would be things like "has to have scrobbled something every week for the past 6 months" or "account must be active for at least a year" - something that a regular user would easily achieve through normal usage but it would make it far more labour-intensive for system-abusers and hopefully put them off bothering.

I'd be interested to hear how problematic users or fake accounts' information is handled post-identification. In other words, does all their activity get removed, i.e. their contributions to global scrobble statistics, image uploads and votes, shouts, etc? Or is it more that their account and shouts become hidden, but their other activity remains in place? If it's the former, great! If it's the latter, then I feel that doesn't go far enough, personally.
