A statement regarding the inability to change usernames should be put at the top of the support forums. -.-

Yeah. It's in the FAQ, but imo this entire getsatisfaction support forum is awkwardly formatted, so I can totally see how less tech-inclined people might both miss the FAQ and not know how to use or wade through the search ability.

Yup, I agree that the search function is very hard to find and impossible to navigate.

I don't appreciate your sarcasm at all. I did not say the search function is hard to find. The FAQ are. Regardless, people who keep making new threads about usernames instead of finding already existing ones (even though making a new thread is also searching by default) are proof enough that it's not as intuitive and obvious as it looks to the two of us who spend more time on this forum than a user who is only interested in one thing and is here for the first time.

Really? If you try to start a new thread you first get a list of suggested thread to check first so you have to really try hard to ignore them and then click on the big,red button saying "Continue Creating Conversation".

I know, but that only happens if you use the search first. If, instead of that, someone uses the "New post" feature, they can ignore the search results and just click the big red "post with this title" button anyway. I'm not defending these people. I'm also baffled by how often you're getting new threads about already existing topics, because I think it's easy to navigate this forum.

But like I already said, as funny as it is, to me those recurrences suggest that people either don't understand how this forum works, or that they think that every query warrants a new thread.

Even if I'm wrong, I still think FAQ should be positioned more obviously, at the top of the page.

I don't think the FAQ is hard to find at all. It's listed under "Help" at the bottom of any LFM page, just like "Community support". And the link Erkan used is listed on "Page 2" of the FAQ's (question #13).

If you were to pin the FAQ's at the top of the community support page, I guarantee you people will still be asking questions that have already answered because people don't like to search or dig for info themselves.

Regardless, I'm sure this topic will be closed by a moderator since it has been answered. :P

It was good to develop the Russian community, sometimes you have to resort to an translater.

I could add something from myself, as I sometimes use this "search" option, find nothing similar to what I want to post, and after posting, I sometimes find something similar - just by accident.

So - of course, search bar is easy to find - but finding FAQ or similar threads isn't. I guess it's because you can name your problem in many ways, and searching system doesn't take all options under one site.

Another reason why I more appreciate the old forum portal. It was so functional and handy.

As kloshar said, this forum is so awkwardly formatted and dysfunctional. I doubt in the old forum it could happen to you to post a double thread and being unable to erase it like here.
