Hi all,

Sprint 189 has been released.

Features
  • Allow users to sort shouts by newest or recently popular
Bugfixes
  • Fix language bar nagging users

We're currently working on: ordering albums by release date, setting event search radius, and continuing to look at shout notifications.

Cheers,
James

Hold up. So "Recently Popular" is the default setting for shouts. Wasn't everyone against something like that, as people can just create alternate accounts and vote up whatever they say straight to the top?

Wait - are you trying to say that it's almost like they're not listening to us, James?

Exactly. It's ridiculous how last.fm managed to kill all my optimism =)

Why can't the shouts just be by date like normal. What's this "popular" nonsense?

Yeah, exactly, how stupid. The "Newest" should be the default at least.

coolest things was the lastfm User have the statistics access all forms , such as see the songs and albums played more in the last 7,30 , 180 days etc ... on the homepage of the artists.
this month of August a year ago that the beta site is in the air, and I remember that at the end of last year you said that these statistics, topchart on the page of the artists already back, but how things looks like it was forgotten , I just I wanted an answer if you are building it , and when it is expected to launch to or are not working for it back . Put the site options in android APP . cheers from brazil

Is there a way to change the default setting for this new sorting function or is this planned for sprint 189345? Whenever I set this to 'newest' and visit another page, the sort order returns to 'recently popular'.

Well, thanks for at least not waiting until the end of this month or the next to post this.

"Fix language bar nagging users" <--- Can I ask what does this mean?

Foxy, it fixes the issue some users where having where the site would detect if the language setting was different from their browser, and ask them if they wanted to change it.  The bug was that it would forget their preference in the next session.

Not sure if it's related to this or the general slowness of the website at the moment but this feature no longer works:

Your compatibility with <username> is Very Low.

seems to be Very Low for any given user.

I have been encountering this since before today's update. Refreshing the page usually fixes it.

It would be nice if the recent comments were shown mainly instead of the ones with the most likes, many people might not be aware of that update

James, how can you top this next week? We visit the site to find it's been replaced by a domain-squatting ad?

What's the status on corrections on album and track names? The last update I read was on 27 June 2016 and nothingsince
We've temporarily disabled new corrections (so you're only seeing corrections that are already in place from the old system), as they've caused problems in user libraries.

I am trying to figure out why they keep the same old advertisements on that scrolling thing they did? It's 2016 and I still can't delete my lastfm account or change my name. :|

Sounds great, can we get a In-House translator for all the portuguese shouts at the top of every artist page?

Definitely iOS app update. With all recent updates and Apple Music, the current is just unusable.

Hi everybody :-)
I'm wondering, why a second click doesn't reverse the list. Has anybody suggest this already?
It is also useful to sort by user.
While you probably work on this feature, can you please add it also to
- Top Artist
- Top Albums and last but not least to
- Private Messaging?

It's good that we had an update so soon after the last one. Weekly updates are a good idea. It would be nice to see some sort of schedule so we can get an idea of last.fm priorities. All I am waiting for is email notifications of shouts. Once that is implemented then last.fm is workable for me.

Being able to (re-)setting the distance for the events suggestions is okay but when will we be able to add or adjust event locations?

If a distance is changed it does not suggest events which have not set a venue!

Seems strange that they concentrate on the social aspects of the site when it seems that the vast majority of people jumped ship a long time ago - there is no social aspect anymore!! Just concentrate on our charts and database ffs.
