Hello everyone,

We just released the following:

Current Obsession released
All users can now set their Current Obsession. Read more about Current Obsessions when we released it as a subscriber preview.

Retina icons
All icons now also have retina versions

Event line-up improvements
We've fixed how large event line-ups behave. We now show a stripped down set of artists on the event page and have a dedicated subpage for browsing the full line-up. We've also fixed the counts in the header. See https://www.last.fm/festival/4267842+The+Great+Escape+Festival

Cancelled events
We now clearly mark cancelled events

Attendees you know
Quickly see the attendees you know at the top of event pages

Capsfixer tool deployed

yOU wiLl seE LEsS of thiS vERY soOn. It'll take a little while for the changes to filter through but we now have a way to fix these bad tags.

Library link conventions
We've standardised on how you navigate the library compared to the rest of the site. Artist, track, and album names link to the catalogue page; numbers in charts link through to the library page

Bugfixes
  • Fix for misaligned lists in Safari
  • Removed that dotted underline in header stats

Cheers,
Team Last.fm

I like the current obsession feature. It could be improved by making albums available as well though.

please take notice Obsession is totally wrong translated in german:
appears "Besessenheit einstellen" what means backwards translated: POSSESSION, what is related to "Daemonic Possession", PLEASE CORRECT this and kick the Idiot out who did it.

are you guys planning to change the library view from that awful list to the easy and useful grid library view? it was so easy to navigate through all your artist with that view, now with the list, for us users who have +1000 artist it's almost imposible
i don't really mind if the list is still there, but at least we should have a choice to change the library view
i feel like i'm forgetting about tons of artists that i don't usually listen because of this library :(
this is the only change i've been waiting since the new last.fm was launched :(

I'm really enjoying the latest updates. Thank you last.fm. I have a couple of small questions...

1) When on an artist page, I like the section for viewing which friends also listen (and # of scrobbles) to same artist. Is it in the works to also view which friends listen to particular albums and songs when on respective pages? I know we can view aforementioned if we 'click' on their scrobbles from the artist page, but just curious if the option aforementioned will be available.

2) Is it possible in the (hopefully near) future to have noted on all personal pages when last logged into last.fm for everyone else to see? I know many scrobble but rarely log into the site. I (and pretty sure I'm speaking for others as well) like to engage in small talk via shoutboxes, but how many times have we wasted time when the other may not even realize they have shouts unless logged in? The same deal with adding friends/following. The only way is going by when they last scrobble but there are people that still log in and not scrobble. Having to know when users last log-in is a good indication to know if our shouts, adding friends, etc, are at least looked over.

Otherwise, thank you again for the continued great work.  :)

This so much! I would love a last active thing. :)

Keep up the event updates! I like the "went to # concerts" at the top of each year's page, and also the "total attended" to the right. Very useful.

Since the recent updates are focused on events, i'd like to ask "is there any thoughts about the possibilities of having multi-venues festivals" even some that are in different cities?

The updates are getting better and better, which is awesome!
Thanks for the continued work on the site.

Hopefully fixing auto-correct and giving us a proper 'About Me' section
comes sooner rather than later.

What do you see when you click the settings button for your Top Artists/ Albums? Make sure the Chart Style is set to Image Grid and Number of Artists is 8.

I want to be able to see the total number of scrobbles I have for an artist in the artist library view. If I click on a number in my charts to reach to the library page, I only get the number of albums and tracks. The only way to get an idea of the total number of scrobbles is to hover with the mouse over the listening history bars and make the total in my mind.

Total Scrobbles should be displayed here in the library view for an artist. Do you have something different?

I found the problem. I was not logged in lol. Why the total number of scrobbles is not shown when you are logged out is beyond me.

Do you intend to go back to viewing the library as it used to? It is currently very difficult and unorganized to see the artists we hear, as well as bad pictures of the main, I hope to come back soon!

Another solid update. Still waiting for groups and a decent About Me section, but the last few updates have vastly increased the site's usability. I might actually even start caring about "followers" again now that there's the "event attendees you know" feature.

The site still has a long way to go, but it's definitely improved substantially in the past few months.

Good stuff, although, shouldn't 'Current Obsession' be a result of your listening data, rather than something users set themselves? I feel like that would be more in the spirit of Last.fm, and also would require a lot less user commitment. Obsessions don't always last long, neither does user attention, if I set my obsession now, chances are I'll leave it like that long past my obsession is over.

How many of you guys become "obsessed" with music releases? I have a friend with over 4,000 Scrobbles for the new Paramore album. Meanwhile, an obsession for me is listening to the same track twice in one day! It's interesting to see how completely different our listening styles are.

Twice could be an accident, lol. Obsessions for me would be at least double-digit listens in a day.

The only time I've ever broken double digits in a day is by using the UniversalScrobbler to fix tags    :(

These forums are for giving feedback to the Last FM team - I was giving my personal feedback on this feature.

If you like it, good for you; no need to get uppity. We're allowed to have different opinions.

On my 2017 event page, the "see your upcoming events" link at the bottom of page is kind of ugly and redundant - because you can just click "upcoming" at the top next to 2017. No need for two ways to get there on the same page.

Actually I miss under 2017 when it listed all the shows including ones you haven't attended yet. It was cool to see what your year will look like in the context of shows you've already been to this year.

So, so excited the capitalization mess will be improved. Thank you so much for this! Current obsession sounds fun but I really wish we could select our custom top artists again. That's the one feature from the "old" site that I truly miss.

Hi Rachel, what browser are you using?  Do you have any ad or script blocking extensions that might be preventing the javascript on the page from working?  If so, try temporarily disabling them, then reload the page and try again.

Well ... what do you mean by "decent", and what do you mean by "terrible" ?
The current format of the Delete option is intentionally constructed this way; mostly to avoid accidentally deleting scrobbles.
I admit, this intention is commendable.
I still wish the delete option could be placed first in the menu, but I don't regret it being like that (inside this menu where it is now).
I also would like it to be present directly in the library page, not only in the scrobles list of the song (in the main library page of some artist - like you suggested in your screenshot). Okay, that would imply we'll be able, then, to delete a song all together, not scrobble-by-scrobble, like we do it now.

So ... what exactly do you find so hard to use about the Delete (scrobble) function ?

dropdown->find delete option->click delete is much slower than hovering over the x. not to mention, several years ago they promised we could delete entire artists/songs: still not available. ive been a user for more than 10 years, i had a paid account for years. i finally had to saysomething because it seems to be getting less user friendly.

Anyone else having a problem with Google Form for capitalization suggestions? It looks like some time after going live it started recording Null/Null as an answer instead of what users actually submit in the fields

Hmm, I honestly don't know what the null responses at the bottom are, but new submissions seem to be going through ok.
