Hello everyone,

We just release Sprint 191. You can find the following in there:

Features
  • Handle large conversations
The most recent replies to a thread are soon with the option to load more
  • Updated Track My Music page
http://www.last.fm/about/trackmymusic - includes download options for the Last.fm Desktop App, and improved info on getting other services to scrobble

Bugfixes
  • Fix grouped events in different years appearing in the same month
  • Fix stats table in header in Russian
  • Fix i18n urls in playbar artist/track links when playing stations/albums
  • Fix notifications mark read functionality (currently hidden)
  • Make youtube embeds in features posts full-width
As mentioned above, notifications are being worked on and will hopefully land soon. As requested, we're also adding more event search radius options.

Cheers,
Team Last.fm

What about those trolls with fake scrobbles who have an average of 777 songs a day?

I can't see how fake scrobbles will ever be fixed, to be honest. Sadly, there will always be people who will look for a way to exploit the system (any system) - fake scrobbles, fake accounts, whatever - in order to gain some kind of perceived kudos.

I wonder if the username-change delay is because it has complicated repercussions, in terms of altering URLs which adversely effects the databases...

What about those trolls with fraudulent likes who have an average of 40 likes per explanation, no matter that they have weak English and it is almost impossible to follow them? An average of fraudulent likes reaches up to 40, sometimes 60 likes per annotation. How do you explain that?

Event search.... There are much more important feature events related. People is smart enough to search concerts. But let us see who attend those concerts and let us create new venues.
And let us know when those important features will be there.
Unbelievable.

So my concern is almost the same since August 2015:
  • Create new venues and other event-related stuff;
  • The journal pages (with BB Code allowed). I kept some precious info there and I used it to organize my seen live list. I had to stick to an Excel sheet since then.
Hope you are still working good and hard on the website. It has been one full year and that's a bit of a shame.

They said shouts and advertising  are on the top of the list, so anything below that is not a priority. Trying to be more like facebook, twitter, and tumblr are more important tasks. I don't think lastfm is unique as it once was.

You guys gonna update all those scrobblers or just put them on a new page on the site?

Where is new update? I wish it would be at last useful.. and that we don't have to wait full month to get it.

Well, I'd figured something out for those of you using winamp to scrobble with the new official app. What I did was installed the new app, but I didn't install any plugins and I am using winamp to scrobble and I am not getting any errors such as the wrong song, wrong album, wrong album cover.

Why oh why oh why are search results still limited to 5 per type???

Probably the worst search engine on a site I've come across

How can I find Facebook friends on lastfm?

The old Friend Finder tool including Facebook accounts has not been reimplemented yet on the new site. But there is an indirect way to contact your Facebook friends via Last.fm by sharing an artist, album or track with the related option on these Last.fm pages. There you could add a comment asking for their Last.fm usernames or simply announcing your new Last.fm account. This would also work for your Twitter followers.

Thanks, but the tool will be available again somewhere in the future right?

I guess it's one of the less important features to bring back on the new site, so "somewhere in the future" might fit.

Btw:
contact your Facebook friends via Last.fm by sharing an artist, album or track
I really don't get it: What is the secret, that there isn't a link to Last.fm users?
I still vote for this.

Jon recently mentioned in the thread about posting your weekly charts to Twitter that they are currently working on sharing them elsewhere. Maybe they will also include sharing them inside of Last.fm this time, too. ;-)

Thank you Jasmin! Thank you Merowinger!
That is the least for a respectful cooperation between staff and users!
Every other behavior is irritating and "will make the wait feel longer".

Next update at the end of the month. These updates keeps getting longer and longer with very little change to the site, but more advertisement and useless shouts updates that seems that I am on twitter, facebook, tumblr, and youtube all on the same website.

We just released Sprint 190. Interesting bits from this release include:
  • Allow event search radius to be set

Is it me, who is a little bit dozy, or hadn't nobody focused this silent update? In this case and to be fair: Thank you dev staff for this improvement. I appreciate to change the event search radius up to 500 km as well as your reaction to the request of the community.

I had noticed it some 2 or 3 days ago already.  Finally I can set up the perfect search radius.  Sadly enough this little step forward went by unnoticed because of the ad-additions (multiple steps backwards).

No proper navigation and sorting options for the library, and it's been over a year since the launch, excuse me for thinking this is one main feature that should have been fixed a long time ago. Not that this state is the least surpricing.

Don't complain for not getting a new update. I think they got tired of us complaining after every new release, so they decided that we'll get one big release after everything we asked for we'll be done.. some years from now. It's our fault :)

Jokes aside, what's worse is that a part of me still hopes that the bigger the wait the bigger the update... even if I know it won't be the case. Yesterday I wanted to listen to some new pop music.. my reccommendations don't include even one pop artist so they are useless.. I still remember when we had genre based reccommendations.

Agreed. :) At least there's someone here that I can relate with. All my recs are for alternative rock artists, which makes perfect sense because rock is one of my favorite genres.

James, do you think, you can make an announcement for this? ;-)

I'm glad to see this Dev Team. Do you also work on the "Friends who listen to" feature in this progress? Come on guys, let it out! ;-)
